Catch the Quaffle
Author: Tranquillina Aemilius

It was quite a surprise for Tranquillina to see white clouds blowing about the Quidditch players.... and then she realized that it was parchment! She looked down below into the stands, wondering who the culprit was, then saw a horrified section of the crowd. She smiled and had to wonder if it was Roane....

After a quick stop was called, and the offending parchment removed, the players were back in business. In a very short amount of time, the quaffle had changed hands, Oreiliah and Ariana had survived a head-on collision, and Kody had taken possesion of the ball, only to send it through the hoops moments later.

Now Ron sent the ball back into play, and Tranquillina caught it. Flying towards the Ravenclaw goals, Tranq tossed the quaffle to Ginny, who continued on the coarse to the hoops. Tranq sped ahead of the other two Gryffindor chasers, and watched as the quaffle was tossed to Oreiliah, then back to Ginny. The Ravenclaw chasers, Martin Makepeace and Ariana Maison were closing in, and Ginny threw the quaffle to Tranquillina. With a lunge, Tranq caught the ball, and spun around to make the toss through the hoops.

Through her peripheral vision, Tranq saw Fritz send a bludger her way. With little to no time to think, Tranq hurled the quaffle towards the hoop, made a silent prayer, and prepared for impact with the bludger. Much to her relief, Brett Kingston came to her rescue and sent the bludger in the other direction. Only then did Tranquillina dare to look up to see what had happened to the Quaffle. It was then that she heard Bronwyn announce, "And Gryffindor scores, tieing the game!"

Here Bludger Bludger Bludger
Author: Coco Nutt
Date: 08-09-04 11:44

Kody takes possession of the quaffle and with a series of passes between the other two Ravenclaw chasers and him, the quaffle is worked down the length of the pitch. Coco and Fritz work equally hard protecting them from both the Gryffindor beaters and the other chasers.

Coco sends a bludger to hit Annie Paul just as that girl was preparing to hit a bludger into Kody, once again in control of the quaffle. Darting forward to intercept and hit the same bludger, this time Coco lobs it on course to hit Ginny Weasley as the Gryffindor attempts to steal the quaffle in a pass between Kody and Martin.

Eyes already seeking out where both bludgers have gone, Coco doesn't stay still long enough to see if the one sent to hit Ginny did indeed meet its mark.

Better than Last Time
Author: Emma Crusher

The conditions were right, that day on the field, and, more importantly, none of the players were sick or injured - at least not yet.

Emma's full attention was on the snitch, with only a little set asside for Harry, who was well known for his good eye. For a moment, it seemed as though he'd spotted it, and Emma was quick to fall in behind him. But the ever-elusive snitch quickly darted out of sight again.

The score was tied at 20. Maybe, Emma thought hopefully, Maybe we'll finally win!

There was a glint of metal somewhere over by the stands, but when Emma turned to see it better, it prooved to be somebody's wristwatch.

'Drat it!' Emma whispered to herself. She thought briefly of casting a spell on herself, to help her see better, but decided against it. She hadn't quite mastered that one, and the thought of blinding herself - even temporarily - was not a pleasent one. Not in the middle of a game.

A bludger came pelting her way, but Coco was quick to dart up and send it flying off towards one of the red-robed players.

This game had the potential to become extremely vicious, and for once in her life, Emma wasn't so sure that was a bad thing.

Game Plays

"Ouch! That had to hurt!" Bronwyn cried, in response to a bludger's impact with Ginny Weasley, the intended target. "Good aim by Nutt! Reese-Emerson's pass is successfully completed to Makepeace!"

Martin pushed forward, eyeing the Gryffindor goal hoops with bold determination. His focus was quickly shifted to the black orb careening towards his face, sent via Annie Paul who'd popped up several yards in front of the Ravenclaw chaser to prevent him from reaching the hoops. Quick thinking enable Martin to avoid contact with the black ball. He ducked his head and pressed his body flat against his broom, then rolled sharply to the left to avoid collision with the Gryffindor beater, who hadn't moved from her spot.

Spying Ariana beneath him, Martin let the quaffle drop into her open arms and rolled to the right so that he was once more positioned upright. As the Gryffindor chasers closed in on Ariana, she tossed the ball up and Martin caught it with one hand. He pulled it to his body and rocketed straight ahead with a sudden burst of speed.

Ron's eyes narrowed at the sight of the oncoming chaser. His hands opened and closed in anticipation for the block, but his determination to prevent Ravenclaw from scoring had no pull this time. Martin wound his arm and let the quaffle go with a mighty underhand toss. Through the right hoop it went.

"Makepeace scores! Ravenclaw leads once more by ten!" Bronwyn shouted. She changed the score on the scoreboard to read Ravenclaw 30, Gryffindor 20.

Sorry!
Author: Brett Kingston
Date: 08-09-04 22:14

Brett loses focus for a moment at hearing the latest score annoucement. This results in him swinging on a bludger without thought of where he's sent it. As quickly as his head was out of the game, it's back in again and with it comes the realization of where the bludger is going - straight toward a stand packed with Hufflepuffs. Brett sends his broom shooting forward after the bludger in a desperate attempt to reach the bludger and hit it back over the pitch.

Brett's effort is a blink too late. He cringes as the bludger smashes into the stand then breaths a sigh of relief that no one was actually hit. Brett's not surprised when Professor Krum blows his whistle, temporarily halting the game. "Foul is being made by Kingston of Gryffindor. Rawenclaw is receiving a penalty shot."

As the three Ravenclaw chasers decide who will take the shot, Brett turns an apologetic face to the Hufflepuffs in the stand he'd hit and mouths, "I'm sorry!" Flying to mid-pitch, Brett mutters under his breath that he hopes Ravenclaw doesn't gain any points because of his blunder then he turns to watch as Ron lays in wait before the Gryffindor goals for one of the other team's chasers to get into position to take the penalty shot.

The Laughing Sense

The game finnaly started to get even better, one of the Gryffindor beaters had just sent a bludger shooting at the Hufflepuffs part of the stands, causing Pansy and I to snort in laughter with the rest of the Slytherins.

"Finally some real action." I laughed.

"Ya, too bad it didn't hit anyone." Said Pansy a bit disappointed.

As soon as everyone stopped laughing they sat there in silence watching the game again to see if the Ravenclaw team would score against Gryffindor during their penalty shot.

Chocolate Frogs, Parchment and Quidditch
Author: Logan Hendrickson
Date: 08-09-04 23:01

Logan watched as Sora carefully removed the chocolate frog from Roane's hair. He began quickly picking up papers that had fallen at least near the seats, watching as the rest had blown onto the field and finally away into other part of the stands.

He tried desparately not to laugh. He figured it might not be too good of an idea right at the moment.

"Here are a few of your papers, Roane." he said with a smile. "Who you trying to help with the distraction?" Then ducked as she sent a swing in his direction.

"Just watch the game." she said back at him.

Logan quickly wiped the grin off his face and dutifully turned his face towards the field. But carefully keeping her within sight.

The game was once again picking up. Faster and faster the teams flew, until Logan forgot all about chocolate frogs and consentrated on the players and what was happening in the air about the Quidditch field.

"Go Gryffindor....!!!" he shouted.

Penalties
Author: Harry Potter
Date: 08-10-04 09:21

Just as Ariana gets in position to take the Ravenclaw penalty shot, Harry spots the snitch hovering just behind her back. He darts in to make a grab for it but when the snitch jerks away at the last second, Harry ends up with his hand firmly wrapped around bristles in Ariana's broom. Ariana turns and shoots a glare at Harry just as Professor Krum's whistle blows.

"Sorry, Ariana, I was going for the snitch."

Her frown at Harry turns into a grin, "Well then, I'm glad you got broom instead."

Krum announces, "Blagging! Foul iz being made by Potter uf Gryffindor. Ravenclaw vill take two penalty shotz."

Ariana lines up to throw again for the first penalty shot. It goes wide resulting in the quaffle bouncing off the rim. Martin comes up to take the second penalty shot. He looks as though he's sighting on the center rim but throws left instead. Ron's fingers graze the quaffle but not enough to push it off its course.

From the stands both teams hear, "Martin Makepeace scores on penalty! Ravenclaw leads forty to twenty!"

Making a List, Checking it Twice
Author: Lucius Malfoy
Date: 08-10-04 10:29

At the BOO, Lucius looks over the potions shelf, making note of what refills he needs to bring. Skele-Gro. Burn healing paste. Veritaserum. Voice rejuvenator. Several other items get added to Lucius's mental list. The list grows even longer when Lucius goes over what will be needed to affect and alter Charlie's memories for his eventual release. If they stick to the plan, that time will be here soon and Bellatrix is getting in as much entertainment as she can between now and then. Lucius's mouth turns up in a malevolent grin as he admits to himself that he's having grand fun and hates to see it end but the plan calls for Charlie being released alive.

Lucius returns to making his list, enjoying the sounds of Charlie screaming in the next room as Bellatrix tries out an old fashioned torture technique that dates back to the Muggle Inquisition. As the screams fade away, Lucius wonders for the umpteenth time if the young Weasel is under the effects of a Fidelius charm to enable him to resist giving out much information.

Lucius shrugs. While it would have been excellent to get everything from the brat, they have gotten useful information. He walks over to the other room and pokes his head in. "Amelia, I am popping out now. I will be back later tonight or in the morning."

Bellatrix nods, "I'll make sure our honored guest doesn't get bored while you're gone, Vanderbilt."

Lucius makes his exit from the BOO to Bellatrix's maniacal cackles and to the resumption of Charlie's screams.

Faking It
Author: Ginny Weasley
Date: 08-10-04 11:03

After the second penalty shot is taken, Ron tosses the quaffle to Ginny. She successfully fakes a pass to Tranq and gets almost three quarters down the length of the pitch before anyone realizes Ginny still has the quaffle. As a bludger streaks past, grazing her shoulder, Ginny hands off to Orie.

The quaffle tucked firmly under one arm, Orie urges her broom forward at top speed. The younger Gryffindor swings wide just before reaching the Ravenclaw goals. She banks into a turn, letting the quaffle go. It soars through the middle of the center hoop bringing the score to Gryffindor 30, Ravenclaw 40.

Go, Go Gryffindor!!!!
Author: Annie Paul

"Yes!" I shouted and continued my plays as a Beater. The Bludgers were flying in all directions as each Seeker and Chaser avoided them. Brett and I did our best and we were good and so were the Ravenclaw Beaters.

As I flew I spotted a Bludger heading towards Harry as he zoomed toward what could have beem the snitch. "Harry watch it!" I shouted and made a dive. I hit the Bludger missing him by inches and then we seperated as I gave him a salute with my club and a grin.

Sitting in the Stands

I watched in amusement as the sunlight glinted off my diamond. Turning it this way and that, I admired its flawless beauty and size.

"If I didn't know better, I would think that you were more in love with that diamond than with me".

I looked up at Sirius, and gave a musical laugh.

"Oh Sirius, really." It was true, of course, although Sirius was much more precious to me than the glittering rock. Sirius had secrets my Dark Lord was craving to know. Sirius was part of an organization that was plotting to destroy my Dark Lord. And maybe most importantly, Sirius was the godfather of Harry Potter, the most precious gift I could ever present to my Dark Lord.

Snuggling up to Sirius, I continued to look at my ring. Turning my gaze to him, I noticed his focus was on the game rather than myself. I touch his face to get his attention.

"We're going to tell him today, right? You'll let Harry know about the engagement?"

Sirius turned his back to the game and smiled down at me.

"Yes. I'll tell him after the game. And speaking of the game...", he gave a pointed look towards the pitch as I rolled my eyes in mock amusement.

"You watch your Quidditch. I'll just go back to admiring my ring."

Bludgers
Author: Fritz Schnackenpfefferhausen
Date: 08-10-04 18:47

Fritz frowns after Ginny scores for Gryffindor. Yes, Ravenclaw is still leading by ten points but the lead is small and could easily be overturned by a couple more goals by the opposing team. Drake throws the quaffle at Kody, who pulls the ball close to his body and streaks through the air like a rocket. Ariana and Martin assume positions at his sides, with the Gryffindor chasers trailing behind.

Determined to prevent them from gaining ground on his Ravenclaw comrades, Fritz lunges for a bludger and sends it hurdling through the sky at Oreiliah. He shakes his head when Brett moves in to intercept it. The ball is returned and once again Fritz attempts to slow down the Gryffindors. This time his target is Tranquillina.

He doesn't wait to find out if the bludger has met its mark and darts after the other one, pausing only to shout out gleefully when Kody fires the quaffle through one of the goal hoops.

"Reese-Emerson scores!" the announcer calls out. "Ravenclaw leads by twenty!"

Milk of Magical Kindness
Author: Synn Gardenn
Date: 08-10-04 20:27

Synn Gardenn sat in the atrium of her lawyer's office and tapped her foot impatiently. There were very few things that angered her but being kept waiting was near the top of her list. She had been notified two days ago of the death of her Aunt Matilda Valere'te. She had been close with the the kind old woman and had found her passing hard to get over. She was asked to come into Mr. Lowtrees office by her secretary, whom Synn gave a scathing look as she passed her.

"Mr. Lowtree will be with you in a moment, ma'am," The young girl said as she avoided Synn's gaze.

Synn sat down on an oversized leather chair and was surprised when Lowtree appeared a few minutes later.

"Mr. Lowtree, I'm not used to being kept waiting," She said not looking at him.

"I apologize, Ms. Gardenn. I'm preparing for a Mis-Use of Magic defense. The deposition took longer then I anticipated. I know your time is valuable," he replied taking his seat behind his desk. He opened his briefcase and removed a teal colored folder.

"Why am I here? Mr. Lowtree?" Synn asked. She was growing increasingly tired of repeating herself.

"When your Aunt found out she was sick she made arrangements. All of the demands of her will have been executed save one. You, of course, know she owned and operated The Fire Berry. Her herb and potion supply store. Being that none of her children showed any interest in helping her in it's running and maintainence she has left it to you."

Synn sat wide-eyed and in complete shock. Her memories flew back to her childhood and running tthrew the store grabbing this herb or that and having Auntie make something truely magical! She especially loved the Milk of Magical Kindness she'd make out of milk, vanilla and sugar. Synn as an adult knew it was infused sweet milk but back then she'd believed that the mixture had really been Magical milk!

"You will find in this folder all the information you'll need for your ownership of the store. The mortgage is paid in full and all taxes have been taken care of for the next five years. Your Aunt wanted to make sure you weren't overwhelmed with taking over. There is an assistant that is eagerly awaiting your arrival at Diagon Alley. I really must excuse myself as I need to get to court." And with that he exited the room.

Synn sat for a few minutes trying to get her head wrapped around what had just happened. When she was finally ready to leave she closed her eyes, concentrated and heard a yowl of pain as Mr. Thosmas Lowtree dropped a cup of scalding hot coffee into his lap in the next room. She grinned evilly at the secretary who immediately burst into tears.
