And Again
Author: Pyrrhus
Date: 07-06-04 18:56

Py is feeling very lonely and wishes he'd brought along a book to read to help pass the time. To help keep warm, he moves back and forth in front of the goal posts, ocassionally doing a loop de loop. To show support for his team, Py periodically calls out something such as, "Way to go, Mary!" and "Excellent move, Isolde!" And now Py loudly yells, "Crispin! Bludger!" as the boy with the unpronounceable name sends one straight at Cooke's back. Crispin easily avoids the bludger, moves to intercept it and sends it soaring towards the Ravenclod captain, Reese-Emerson. In the meantime, Mary scores again. Py pumps his fist triumphantly in the air as the goal is announced.

"Mary Black scores ten more for Slytherin. That brings the score to Slytherin 90, Ravenclaw 20."

Azkaban: The Others
Author: Ethan Somerset
Date: 07-06-04 20:58

Ethan had dreamt about the cliffs in Hogsmeade every night for the past week. In these often monotonous sequences Ethan saw only himself standing on the rocky cliff-face, but the presence of one if not two others could always be felt.

"How is it you know more than I?" the dream Ethan often asked his invisible addressees. Were an answer ever given, Ethan never heard it spoken. In fact, there was never any indication that someone else was there in the dream, but somehow Ethan knew it must be so.

Other questions were asked to the hidden person or persons: "How many others are there? Where are the others? Will I get to meet the others? Can I contact the others?"

Who were these others Ethan had questioned about? Ethan wondered. He was sitting on his cot, with his back against the wall and feet on the cot with him. His blue eyes were unfocused and his brow was furrowed and the wheels in his head turned and turned as he tried to formulate a plausible answer.

"What are you thinking about?"

Ethan blinked his eyes into focus and looked at the man staring at him through the bars of his cell. "Dreams are like windows to the subconscious. Would you agree with that assessment?"

Nero shrugged. "What did you dream about?"

Ethan divulged what he remembered, quite unaware that what he'd dreamt about had in fact happened exactly one year ago. The questions he'd asked in his dreams he'd asked in reality. He knew once what was meant by the others. Why couldn't he remember now?

He palmed his eyes with his hands after he finished speaking and thereby missed the shadow that crossed Nero's face. When he looked up again the expression had passed and his friend, if Nero could so be called, looked at him with some sympathy. "This place makes us all a bit mad. You're probably just dreaming nonsense. I wouldn't think on it for more than what it is."

"I've long thought that I've lost all sense," Ethan admitted, shrugging in a self-depreciating manner. "Maybe I am cracking up."

"You're not completely off your rocker yet!" Nero exclaimed, jokingly. "But give it time."

"I've got nothing but time."

They both fell silent. Nero stepped away from the bars and sat down to write a letter, and Ethan resumed his trance-like state despite his comrade's suggestion to not dwell on the dreams. He couldn't shake the feeling that they were somehow important. They could be the pieces to the puzzle, though the pieces themselves still had missing parts. Who were the people in his dream, those hidden people he knew were there but couldn't see?

Wait Until AFTER the Game!
Author: Ariana Maison
Date: 07-06-04 22:39

Ariana swore the pain in her leg got worse with each goal achieved by the Slytherins. This game definitely wasn't favoring Ravenclaw. She just hoped Emma caught snitch...and soon!

The chaser knew she really wasn't any help, but she didn't want to leave. Ariana kept assuring everyone she was fine, even though its obvious her leg need some medical assistance.

After the Slytherins had scored so many times however, the pain got nearly unbearable. So Ariana flew down and just kind of hovered on her broom watching them game, smacking away whoever tried to help her.

"Oh bloody hell...! I'll get medical attention...but after the game...but not one moment sooner! Bugger off!"

The Ravenclaw then turned back to the game, where she made out who was who hovering far above. Come on, Emma...!

Fading Fast
Author: Fritz Schnackenpfefferhausen
Date: 07-07-04 14:39

Slytherin has a seventy point lead over Ravenclaw, which will undoubtedly only grow as time progresses unless Emma catches the snitch. Fritz, feeling more and more ill by the moment, makes a sickly, exasperated noise as he tries to breathe through his nose. Not only is it stuffed up but his head is also throbbing and his fingers feel frozen solid.

Fritz spots a bludger careening towards the injured Ariana and lunges for it, bopping it with his club but the movement is so lackluster that the bludger doesn't go very far in the opposite direction before coming back to where Fritz is at. He swings at it again, this time with a bit more energy, sending it far, far away for the time being.

His head starts to swim and Fritz finds himself descending a little. He fights back the wave of sleepiness that suddenly seems to assail him but to no avail. Closing his eyes more and more slowly and for longer and longer lengths of time, Fritz eventually finds himself so weary that he falls off of his broom and onto the snowy ground below. Luckily he'd already been close to the ground and didn't have far to fall.

Somewhere fading in the distance, Fritz barely makes out the voice of Bronwyn Dewhurst shouting, "Farnon scores again! Slytherin 100, Ravenclaw 20!" And then everything goes black.

Time Out
Author: Viktor Krum
Date: 07-07-04 17:51

Swearing softly under his breath at how badly this game has been for Ravenclaw, Viktor halts play long enough to assess Fritz and have the boy taken off the pitch. Luckily for Schnackenpfefferhausen, his main problem is the effects of a very nasty cold or possibly even the flu.

Before allowing play to resume Viktor contemplates removing Ariana Maison from the game as well but she's being stubborn and claiming she's not so bad off that she can't make it through the rest of the match. Viktor knows she's being less than truthful but he can't really blame her. He would do the same in a game if it meant willfully exiting the game and leaving his team short. Viktor decides not to pull Ariana from the match against her will. At least not yet. He'll keep a close watch on her and sideline her if she looks like she's doing worse.

Blowing the whistle, Viktor signals for the game to start once more, silently hoping that someone catches the snitch before the entire Ravenclaw team ends up in the hospital wing.

Doing What She Does Best
Author: Isolde
Date: 07-07-04 19:15

With half the Ravenclaw team either out of play or severely injured, things were looking even better for Slytherin. Right now, Makepeace had the quaffle but his handle on it wasn't that secure because he held it with his left arm--his right arm had fallen useless at his side after the impact with a bludger earlier in the game. Still, he tried his best to reach the Slytherin hoops without loosing hold on the ball.

Isolde made a beeline for the racing chaser, determined to take the quaffle from him. She ducked to avoid a bludger as it hurdled through a wisp of cloud, then dodged the remaining Ravenclaw beater before reaching her target. Makepeace, startled by her sudden approach, felt the quaffle slip from his left hand. Isolde took the opportunity to snatch it from his grasp and smirked.

Then she turned tail and darted in the opposite direction. A blur of green- and blue-clad players followed, and soon the speedy exchange between the Slytherin chasers took place while the Ravenclaws desperately tried to intercept.

But to no avail. The quaffle landed in Isolde's arms once more and then she chucked it through one of the unguarded hoops for another score.

"That's another 10 points for Farnon!" cried Dewhurst. "Slytherin leads 110 to 20."

Bludger Are Fun
Author: Mary
Date: 07-07-04 19:37

Mary snagged the quaffle from the air mid-pass and tossed it easily to Isolde. It was just too easy, there was no resistance. She smirked as Isolde tossed it back quickly with a spiffy behind-the-back move and Mary passed it on to Nora, who scored yet again.

Mary and Nora exchanged war whoops and maniacal grins.

"Masters scores, One twenty to twenty, Slytherin." The announcer sounded almost bored.

If they kept going like this, Mary thought, it wouldn't matter if Crusher got the snitch--- Slytherin would still win.

Mary was too busy throwing her head back and cackling to notice the bludger until it hit her square in the chest. The breath whooshed from her body as she was sent flying off her broom, barely managing to hold on to the handle with one hand. She dangled there, wheezing, trying to regain her breath and her orientation.

Playing Keep Away
Author: Kody
Date: 07-07-04 19:48

Kody's not sure how he managed it but somehow after Farnon's last goal he'd ended up with the quaffle. Emma is still desperately searching for the snitch and knowing she needs to keep with it, Kody doesn't expect any help from her in getting him with the quaffle down the pitch. The other three remaining team members, however, do help as best they can given that Ariana's pretty badly injured and indications are that Martin is in more pain from his arm than he's been letting on.

Coco keeps sending bludgers at the Slytherins, batting them right back whenever Black and Cooke send the bludgers flying towards one of the Ravenclaws. Ariana and Martin are going back and forth in a criss cross pattern behind Kody to help further block the Slytherins from stopping him from reaching the goal posts.

Somehow the three keep the sky around Kody clear and before he knows it he's reached the other end of the pitch. The Slytherin keeper Fine seems surprised to see a Ravenclaw in front of him and with the quaffle in hand to boot. Before Fine can fully react, Kody lets the quaffle fly, holding his breath as the ball sails through the air.

Ravenclods
Author: Pyrrhus
Date: 07-07-04 20:06

Py, who'd been drifting back and forth in front of the posts, had been thinking of anything but this farce of a game. He's forced to suddenly snap to when Reese-Emerson appears before him, shooting the quaffle towards the hoops behind Py. Darting to his right, Py just misses the ball. He glowers at the Ravenclod captain then breaks into a sneering grin. Afterall, a few more goals on Slytherin's part and it won't matter if Crusher gets the snitch or not.

Py retrieves the quaffle and pitches it to the always lovely Isolde. Reese-Emerson, the only uninjured chaser on the other team, suddenly swerves into the quaffle's path, intercepting it. No sooner has it hit the other boy's hand then the Ravenclod lets it go. Py swears loudly, glad the wind is carrying his words away from Professor Krum, as the quaffle once again sails through one of the goal posts.

This time when giving the quaffle over, Py hands it directly to Isolde, both of them ignoring the announcement of, "Kody Reese-Emerson scores back to back goals for Ravenclaw! Great interception! Ravenclaw now has 40 to Slytherin's 120. Ravenclaw's not out of it yet!"

Missing a Beat
Author: Alexis Black
Date: 07-07-04 20:10

Alexis cursed as Ravenclaw scored. Twice.

She kind of saw it coming, though. After all, despite their visible lack of players, the Ravenclaws were bound to manage something with the cocky way the Slytherins had been carrying on.

That didn't mean the score didn't irritate her, and it didn't mean she was any less confident of their coming victory.

Suddenly she caught sight of a bludger screaming toward Mary. She was too late, however, to deflect it, and it knocked her sister off her broom.

Oops.

Alexis decided it wouldn't be prudent to laugh, however, so she chased the offending bludger down instead anad sent it streaming back toward the remaining Ravenclaws. What are a few more lost players when you're doomed anyway?

Ouch!
Author: Coco Nutt
Date: 07-08-04 07:53

Coco continues sending bludgers as often as she can towards the Slytherin chasers but with little apparent effect as that team's beaters stop most of her efforts. She joins the Ravenclaw chasers, once again clustered around the hoops, in hopes of blocking further Slytherin goal attempts.

Using her body, Coco is successful in thwarting on shot of the quaffle but in doing so one of the Slytherins, she's not sure which one, rams into her. The fingers on her broom make a crunching sound as a wave of pain shoots up her arm. When no foul is called Coco guesses the collision looked enough like an accident, and perhaps it really was, that it wasn't considered to be a foul.

As Coco experiments with bending her fingers and decides a couple of them are broken, she hears her team mates groan and the announcement, "Slytherin scores again! It's now 130 to 40!" Frowning, Coco looks around to see who scored. From their faces she thinks it's either Farnon or Mary Black. Not that it matters. What matters is that the Slytherins are yet again posed to make a goal. If they make many more, Ravenclaw getting the snitch won't matter for the victory. Coco hopes Emma finds that little golden ball very soon.

The Race is On
Author: Emma Crusher
Date: 07-08-04 09:12

Draco had seen the snitch, and was already rushing towards it. Emma took off after him, desperate to keep his team from getting any further ahead in the way of scoring.

Wind flew into her face like icy needles, but she pushed it asside and continued to accelerate. The race was on...

Go Ravenclaw!
Author: Harry Potter
Date: 07-08-04 15:55

Harry and Ron speculate on who will get the snitch. As badly as things have gone for Ravenclaw they both think it's time for that team to catch a break and for Emma to catch the little golden ball. They also simply don't want Slytherin to win. Both agree that for once Slytherin's played without any obvious cheating attempts and they wonder in how bad a shape the Ravenclaw players would be if Slytherin had been playing dirty.

Everyone in the stands is on their feet or the edge of their seats, cheering the seekers on. From what Harry can tell, most are rooting for Emma. The wind's picking up and snow is starting to fall heavily, obscuring vision. Maybe that will help Emma over Draco though it could hinder her just as much. Harry's hands are encased in thick gloves so he mentally crosses his fingers and finds himself holding his breath as he wills Emma to catch the snitch.

Excited Whispers for Ravenclaw!
Author: Ellspeth
Date: 07-08-04 19:35

"Go Go Go Ravenclaw! ! !" Ellspeth whispers as loudly as she can, since she has lost her voice in all the shouting during the match. Several of the people sitting next to her have moved a bit farther away since she has literally bounce on everyone. And YES everyone sitting anywhere near her knows "it is her first Quidditch Game that she has ever attended.

Some smile to themselves as they watch her wave the flags she has somehow found somewhere. Enormously enjoying the antics as she watches every action and reaction that has happened in the Match, though no one has refused the warming cuppa Hot Pepper Jelly Tea. It was amazing at how much that thermos actually could hold.

"This is wonderful ! ! !" Ellspeth whispered to a young gentleman next to her. He just smiled and laughed right along with the others.

This would be a match that very few would forget. If only for the antic and and total love of the game that Ellspeth showed them all....of course there would probably be a run on "Hot Pepper Jelly Tea" during the next few winter months......

The Amazing Draco
Author: Draco Malfoy
Date: 07-08-04 20:54

A glimmer of gold caught Draco's eye through a wisp of cloud. He'd been tracking the snitch ever since he'd seen it earlier in the game, but the ever-graying clouds and the now-falling snow made the winged ball all the more difficult to find. His fingers had even started to go numb at the tips because of the sudden change in the already miserable climate.

Ignoring the tenderness of his fingers, Draco tried his best to concentrate on the task at hand: find the snitch! Crusher was on his tail, having immediately flown after him at the first sighting of the golden orb. When he moved left, she moved left. When he moved right, she moved right. Always she mimicked his movements when he showed any indication of spotting the snitch.

And there it was again! A transparent wing fluttered into sight but quickly vanished into the gloom. Draco darted after it followed by Crusher, who urged her broomstick forward to gain an edge over her opponent. She eased past him and into the lead, catching sight of the golden snitch as it came into full view. It led them across the Pitch, darting here and there always in plain sight but always just out of reach.

Suddenly, a bludger shot through the air and nearly made contact with Crusher's head. She ducked and swerved, loosing her momentum, and nearly lost complete control of her broomstick. The unfortunate distraction set her back enough for Draco to resume the lead position in the chase for the snitch, which he promptly did with right arm out-stretched.

Just a little closer! But then, another bludger or perhaps the same one that had nearly unseated Crusher, struck Draco's forearm. His leather gauntlet came flying off and then Draco clutched his injured arm to his chest and gritted his teeth together in pain.

But the snitch was still there and he almost had it! He grimaced and stretched out his injured arm once more and urged his broomstick forwards. The little burst of speed was enough for his numb fingertips to reach. Just a little bit more! And then his whole hand closed over the golden orb. He sighed in relief and relaxed, closing his eyes and lowering both arms as he slowed to a stop.

"Malfoy's caught the snitch!" rang Dewhurst's voice. "Slytherin wins!"

Final score: Slytherin 280, Ravenclaw 40

About Time
Author: Mary
Date: 07-08-04 22:07

Mary, arm poised for a pass, heard the announcement.

"Malfoy's caught the snitch! Slytherin wins!"

She hollered with joy and threw the quaffle straight up in the air, just as Nora collided with her and wrapped her arms excitedly around Mary's waist, screaming.

"It's about bloody time!! We won!!"

They managed to make it to the ground where the team gathered to exchange hugs and high fives. Even Mary beamed uncontrollably.

"Party in the common room tonight!" Someone shouted. Mary glanced over at the Ravenclaw team, who were already gathering their fallen comrades to take to the hospital wing.

She grinned.

"Wicked." She said happily.
