The End of
the Trip

Bronwyn slid into an empty chair next to Hermione and immediately started inspecting the bracelet.
"Ooh. Fourtheen carat gold. Cute charms. Very tasteful!"
Hermione blushed and nodded, "Yes, it is very nice." She could almost feel the heat of Ron's stare on her back.
Hannah and Susan pulled chairs over to the crowded table, finding spots next to Harry.
"So, Toby. Hunter," Bronwyn began, looking up at the handsome boys. "Get into any trouble today?"
Professors Fairchild and Sorcha giggled and mocked disapproval.
"Trouble? Me?" Toby winked and answered, "I think you have me confused with some other handsome bloke."
Bronwyn smiled sweetly and batted her eyelashes a little. "Aww, that's too bad. I like a bad boy..."
Kendra groaned and buried her head into her hands.
Grinning, Bronwyn then turned to Harry and put her hand on his shoulder. "How are you, Harry? You feelin' alright? Is there anything I can do for you? You seem a little stressed about something."
Harry held up his hands and answered, "No, no...I'm alright, really. Thank you for your concern. Really."
Bronwyn didn't believe that everything was truly alright, but she accepted his answer and turned to her mug of butterbeer, which Madam Rosmerta had just place on the table.
Meanwhile, Ron said good-bye to his older brothers before trudging back to the table. He stood behind Hermione so that he wouldn't have to see her face as he spoke.
"Hello Bronwyn, Hannah, Susan, Kendra, Professor Fairchild, erm Professor Sorcha, Hunter, Toby." His gaze was cool as it rested on the good-looking Hufflepuff. He then turned to Harry and said, "It's getting dark out. Think we should start heading back to school?"
Harry turned to look out the window and nodded. "Yeah. I guess it's time to go back."
The group finished up their butterbeer, and then the students trickled out of The Three Broomsticks to head back to school. Professor Fairchild and Professor Sorcha left seperately.
As the students walked back to Hogwarts, Bronwyn was very talkative. Her motormouth went on and on about how exciting their first Hogsmeade trip of the new term had been. Every so often she'd flash sweet grins at Toby, who would flash 'em right back at her. His grin was to die for. Susan and Kendra kept relatively quiet, while Hannah and Hermione engaged in conversation. Harry and Ron both walked with their minds on two seperate women, Miss Fairchild and Miss Granger respectively. So ended the first Hogsmeade trip of the year 1995.

She ends up at the Quidditch Pitch and walks to the middle of the field. There she lies on her back and stares up the sky, finding patterns in the clouds... hearts, flowers, an outline of Peevesie Poo... and all the while a little voice in the back of her head is once more telling her something's very wrong. Majandra closes her eyes and tries to clear her mind to better hear what her subconscious is saying but before long, Majandra is peacefully napping on the Quidditch Pitch.
Leaving Hogsmeade
Author: Prof. Sorcha
Date: 01-23-02 21:08
Sorcha followed Adriana into The Three Broomsticks. She disliked crowded places; they made her nervous, so many things could happen, few of them good. She made sure Ailsa was on the building across the street.
Adriana walked in like she owned the place. She headed to a table with some students sitting there. The two sat down, and Sorcha watched Adriana look at a table and wink. Sorcha looked at the table and found the Weasleys sitting there. One of them glared at her.
Sorcha turned away from the Weasley table and just listened to the conversation. It was mostly about this bracelet. One of the students, Ron it looked like, was not happy with the bracelet.
Sorcha was thinking about how unconcerned Adriana was about their conversation outside. 'Was she a mean person? Did she really have no compassion for others? Or was there a reason behind her mentioning about being interrogated again?'
Then three more female students came. It made Sorcha a little more nervous. They started talking to one of the boys there and sat down. The conversation altered and included them.
After a few moments Ron convinced everyone it was time to go back to Hogwarts. The students left in a group. Adriana and Sorcha went back together. Adriana kept looking up at Ailsa, making sure she didn't try to take her head off again.
They arrived at Hogwarts, with little conversation. The two headed their separate ways to get ready to the next day.
Always a Pleasure

As the group of students finally reached the castle, and as Bronwyn finally stopped talking, it was time for all of them to part ways.
"Well, ladies," Toby began, "It's been lovely but it's about time we get you up to your common rooms."
Hunter came up behind Kendra and Susan. "Kendra, Susan, may I have the honor?" He slipped his arms between theirs and they began to giggle. Toby proceeded to take Bronwyn (who seemed delighted) and Hannah. But then Toby stopped and turned to the Gryffindors.
"Ron. Harry. See that Miss Granger makes it safely to her common room, will you?" He winked at her and then gave a slight bow. "Always a pleasure, Hermione." And with that, the six Hufflepuffs went off giggling down the hallway.
Hermione couldn't help but grin. Ron scowled, "Always a pleasure, my ass!"
"You'll never understand, will you!" shrieked Hermione suddenly. She turned and was gone down the hall before either Harry or Ron could speak.
Friendly Feuding

When Ron and Harry reached the common room, Hermione had already gone to her dormitory. Not everyone had returned from Hogsmeade, so they were alone in the common room.
Harry sat down in one of the chairs and looked at Ron. "Alright, what's going on between you and Hermione?"
Ron shrugged, "Nothing."
"Don't lie to me, Ron. I'm your best friend."
"Well then don't lie to me! Tell me what's bothering you. You haven't exactly been honest with either of us." Ron said matter-of-factly. "Hermione and I are worried about you constantly, and yet you refuse to tell us what's going on."
Harry didn't know what to say. The fact was, he didn't really know what was going on himself.
Ron stood up. "Look Harry, I don't know what it's like for you, after facing Voldemort last year. So I understand, I guess, if you need to keep things to yourself." He started towards the stairs and then stopped. Ron hadn't anticipated how good it felt to finally get that all of that off his chest. He also realized he couldn't be mad at Harry. Ron turned back to his friend. "I like Hermione, Harry. I like her a bloody lot."
"Yeah?" smiled Harry.
Ron smiled too. "Yeah."
He went up the stairs leaving Harry alone in the common room. Ron wasn't upset with Harry, just hurt that Harry didn't feel like he could turn to him. But Ron was resolved to be the friend Harry needed, and if that meant not asking questions, then so be it.

When the group of Hufflepuffs got back to their common room, Hannah and Susan ran up to the dorm to grab something, and the rest collapsed in the giant over-stuffed chairs.
"Whew! What a day, huh?" Bronwyn sighed, flipping her legs over the side of the armchair.
Kendra did the same. "Yeah, I'm pretty tired," she said, swinging her legs.
"Is anyone hungry besides me?" Toby asked from the armchair next to his younger sister's.
Kendra laughed. "You're always hungry, Tob!"
He grinned. "Yeah, I s'pose I am, huh?"
Hunter and Kendra laughed in unison just as Hannah and Susan returned.
"What're you laughin' at?" Hannah asked, puzzled.
Kendra giggled. "Toby's rumbly stomach!"
Toby's stomach sounded again and everyone, including Toby, burst into piles of laughter.
Midnight Snack

When everyone finished laughing, Toby had (surprise, surprise) a devilish idea.
"Why don't we sneak down to the kitchens and pinch ourselves a snack?"
Bronwyn's eyes lit up, "So, you've decided to be a bad boy after all."
"Remember guys, I'm a prefect." Hannah laughed and covered her ears. "I'm not hearing this!"
Toby looked around, "Well, who's with me? Bronwyn, I assume. What about you Susan?"
She shrugged, "I'm kind of tired. But if I'm still up when you get back I'll be happy to help you eat!"
"Count me in!" said Hunter excitedly.
"Well, that leaves you, sis. What do ya say?" Toby pouted and batted his eyelashes.
Kendra hesitated, "I don't know, I'm kind of tired too. Maybe I should"
"Come on, Ken." Bronwyn pleaded. "Where's your sense of adventure?"
"Fine," gave in Kendra, "But we better not get caught!"
Toby patted his sister on the back, "Don't worry, sis. I can sweet talk my way out of anything."
Bronwyn smiled, I bet you can, sexy!
The foursome slipped out of their common room and down to the kitchens without getting caught. There were some close calls with Mrs. Norris a few times, causing Bronwyn and Kendra to jump into the arms of Toby and Hunter respectively. All in all it was a fun adventure, although the house elves gave them a little more food than the four could carry. Toby enjoyed holding Bronwyn in his arms, but he had a feeling Kendra didn't appreciate it. And Toby's family came first. That's a shame, thought Toby. She's a cute girl!
Time to Go?

Just as I manage to start a conversation with the wonderful and evil Azaelia it's time to get back to school. It's obvious that in her company, time just flies past.
I offer to walk her home...in the dark of course.

Sweetheart, It's Time to Go
Author: Bill Weasley
Date: 01-23-02 22:11
Percy prepared to take his leave with Penelope as Charlie and Bella flirted away over several pints of butterbeer. Ron had just left to go back to the school with his classmates and the night was drawing near.
Standing, Percy helped his girlfriend out of her chair and said, "Bill, Charlie." He waited for Charlie to direct his attention away from Prof. Sinistra long enough to listen to what he had to say. "We should meet again next weekend, if that's good for you both?"
Bill nodded, "That will do fine with me."
"And me as well," Charlie said, shifting his gaze back to Belladonna.
Percy smiled slightly and replied, "Fine. I'll send an owl with the details later." He then winked slyly at Penelope before saying good-bye to Prof. Sinistra and his brothers.
Percy and Penelope exited the pub and found themselves on the dark and vacant street.
"Well, my love," Percy began, offering his arm. "Shall we?"
Penelope smiled and looped her arm through his, "We shall."
Together, the two apparated to Paris.
Back at the pub, Bill said good night to his brother and Bella and headed to the inn to get some sleep.
Uh Oh
Author: Majandra
Date: 01-23-02 22:41
Majandra only wakes up when her pleasant dream-filled sleep turns to a disturbing dream in which Pyrrhus stands mocking her causing everyone else, even the professors, to point and laugh. She sits up with a start, suddenly wide awake. Majandra looks around, remembering she's at the Quidditch pitch, and her heart sinks at how dark everything is.
Pulling her wand out, Majandra in a quite voice says, "Lumos," so that she can look at her watch. She looks at the time, checks it again and then a third time. Majandra jumps to her feet muttering "Bloody hell!" and a few other unrepeatable phrases. It's now so late there's no way she could get up to Gryffindor House without being caught and given detention.
Majandra sighs, then swears more. It's gotten chilly and will surely get even colder as the night wears on. Majandra does the only thing she can think to do. She heads to the Quidditch dressing rooms, pushes a couple of benches together, and tries to get comfortable.
Whispers
in the Dark
Author: Adriana Fairchild
Date: 01-23-02 22:42
Adriana said goodnight to Professor Sorcha and headed up to her bedroom in the west tower. Christina Sorcha seemed very nervous about everything, and Adriana couldn't see why. But then again, they had only just met, and everyone has their secrets.
Once in her bedroom she changed into her pajamas, crawled into her massive four poster bed and began reading The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts. She read for hours about evil warlocks, and power hungry sorceressesbut then, just as her candles began to dwindle, her eyes fell upon a name she had been hearing a lot lately; Voldemort.
Dumbledore and Minerva had given her an up to date report on the rise of Lord Voldemort, who Professor McGonagall insisted on calling You-Know-Who. They told her all about his original rise to power, how Harry miraculously lived, and how Voldemort returned to power and is now on the loose, gaining supporters. As she began to read about the day Voldemort killed the Pottersher aunt and unclethe last candle flickered out completely.
"Damn it!" Adriana closed the book and picked up her second hand wand. What's that spell again? But she could only remember 'lumos' which lit the tip of her wand so she could see enough to find her matches. As she put down her wand to strike a match, one of the windows blew open, and Adriana heard a voice.
Adriana...Adriana...
The voice was rich and seductive, yet as soft as a whisper. Adriana stood up and wrapping a blanket around her shoulders walked over to the window.
Adriana...Adriana...Why don't you come to me? I've been waiting for you.
Adriana shook her head, "Who's there? What do you want?" She pulled the blanket tighter around her as the room suddenly became as cold as an ice box.
I've been waiting for you. Twenty-two years I've been waiting. It's time, Adriana. Time for you to join me.
"Look," started Adriana, terrified for the first time in her life. "I don't know who you are, or what you want, but I'm not going anywhere. So leave me alone!"
You know who I am, Adriana.
You will soon understand what I want.
To come to me is your destiny.
A huge gust of wind raced through the room and her book, The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts, flew opened to the same page she had been reading. Adriana panicked. She ran over and grabbed the book, only to hurl it out the window screaming "GET OUT!" Adriana closed and bolted the window, pain shooting through her forearm. Breathless, she stayed there with her back pressed against the window for several minutes and tears streaming down her cheeks until her candle began to flicker once again. Whatever it was, it was gone. You know who I am, Adriana rang through her head. Yes, thought Adriana, I do know who you are. But it'll be a cold day in hell before I ever join forces with you, Voldemort!

Clara had a grin on her face as she fell onto her bed. Tempest had practically dragged her away from Malfoy.
Tempest looked at her friend and rolled her eyes. "Clara, wipe that smile of your face...that smile...it's kind of...well...it's not you!"
"But Temp, I can't help it!" Clara rolled onto her side and glared at Tempest. "Besides, you're the one that ditched me!"
Tempest laughed. "And as much as I'd like to...I can't regret it...least that smile's off your face though!"
The two friends laughed and crawled into bed.

Sykra had been sitting at the bar for almost and hour...by that time her vision was back to just two of everything...when her friends came in looking for her.
"Sykra Sawyer!!!!" Cho grabbed her arm. "We've been looking everywhere for you!"
"I've just been 'aving a butterbeer Cho 'n' Cho, Chillax!"
Cho sighed, rolled her eyes and motioned for Aradia to grab Sykra's other arm. "Let's get her back to Hogwarts."
"Yes, let's..." They half-dragged, half-carried their friend home, afraid she might fall, and have her vision double again...a few more times.
When they reached their common room, Aradia helped Cho get Sykra up to the 6th years' common room, and into bed. Sykra fell asleep as soon as she hit the pillow.
Aradia laughed. "All's well that ends well...I think anyways..."
"Yeah..." Cho grinned in agreement.
"Well I'm off to bed...night Cho!"
"Night Aradia!"

Such Sweet Sorrow
Author: Pyrrhus
Date: 01-24-02 00:45
After most of the Hogwarts students had cleared out of The Three Broomsticks Pyrrhus and Isolde decided that they too should leave. As they walked towards the school, their hands occassionally touched and each time they both jumped a fraction sideways... away from each other. There seemed to be an unspoken agreement between them not to let others see them acting as anything but friends.
They reach the entrance to the castle and start to enter but Py suddenly pulls Isolde back down the steps. Pyrrhus carefully looks around to make sure no one's watching and then pulls Isolde behind a bush. There Py proceeds to kiss her until he hears someone coming. With a sigh, he breaks the kiss and peers around the bush. After the person has entered the castle, Pyrrhus and Isolde quietly follow behind.
Once inside, the two quickly meet up with a few other Slytherins. All head toward the Slytherin common room, Isolde and Py walking as far apart as possible and trying hard not to steal glances at each other. In the common room, Pyrrhus starts to sit but decides he'd best head to his dorm room. Before heading up he catches Isolde's eye and hopes she reads his look as an unspoken goodnight. "At least," he thinks to himself, "I know what I'm dreaming about tonight."
