Getting Dressed

Professor Sinistra stepped out of the bathtub as she turned off the taps and wrapped a towel around her. She then got into a very loose robe as she brushed out her blue-black hair while sitting at her dressing table. She twisted little tendrils of hair so they'd curl about her face and give a soft effect after she pulled most of her hair off her face with combs and slipping into black satin heels.
After applying a slight bit of makeup and blowing a kiss at herself in the mirror, she got up and pooled the slinky dress at her feet before slowly sliding it up and zipping herself in. Looking in the full length mirror, she whistled. All those galleons were worth it for such a dress. Charlie wouldn't be able to breathe when he saw her in it. She laughed before she put dangly black pearls in her ears and a matching necklace around her neck before sitting down to grade homework before the feast. Wow, the salesgirl was right when she said the robe was made for her.
She'd never owned anything like it before, but she was reconsidering her point of view. She'd see how tonight went....

Harry, Hermione, and Ron entered the Great Hall to find the massive room decorated in orange and black. Live bats fluttered across the ceiling, and candlelit pumpkins floated in the air. Hermione's navy blue dress robes mirrored the night-coloured ceiling. Once again, it was time for the Halloween feast.
Nerves were drilling at Hermione as she took her place next to Ron at the Gryffindor table. Tonight was the night she'd make her big move. Her eyes scanned the room, checking to see if everything and everyone was in place for the main event.
The hall was still filling up, and the three major components of Hermione's plan had yet to arrive. She knew they'd come shortly, and they sure wouldn't expect what was to come. Deciding to concentrate on something else for the moment, Hermione turned to Ron. She knew that he knew that she liked him. She could tell by the way he had been acting around her lately. His smiles and that look on his face which suggested, I know I look good to you, baby! gave it all away.
Hermione would always blush and look the other way, unable to speak. Sometimes she'd try to open her mouth and say something witty or just something at all, but mostly she'd just want to go away and hide. Tonight, however, she figured was as good a night as any to declare her true feelings for Ron. She just had to figure out a way to do it, and deep in her mind, she knew exactly how.
No Tricks...Only
Treats
Author: Fred Weasley

By the time Halloween rolled around, Fred, George, and Sammi had earned their house thirty points. Things were certainly looking up for Gryffindor, and these three seventh years were determined to make this year, their last year, the best it could be.
They entered the Great Hall, Fred with his arm around Sammi's shoulders and Sammi with an arm around Fred's waist. George walked alongside the couple, waving at acquaintances and highfiving friends as he went by. The threesome took a seat close to the front of the hall, giving them an excellent view of the main table where the professors sat.
Fred was dressed to impress in his midnight blue robes. They were second hand, but he didn't dare tell Sammi that.
"You know, Sammi, it's gonna be really 'ard for us to be good tonight," Fred said, brushing his lips against his girlfriend's ear.
George gagged, "Get a room, you two." He winked slyly at Fred and in response to Fred's comment said, "'E's roight, Sammi. Fred an' I, we love 'alloween. It's the perfect night for tricks and the like...an' that's just wot we do. Tricks."
Sammi managed to tear her gaze away from Fred to respond to George, but before she could put in her two cents, George continued to speak. "But, you're roight. We can't win the 'ouse cup if we cause Gryffindor to lose more points. An' for some reason which I have yet to comprehend, the professors don't like our tricks." George tapped his chin thoughtfully, then shrugged. "Oh well. No tricks this year, Fred. But there's always next year!"
Fred grinned at his brother and nodded, "We'll have plenty of time to plan out something big for next 'alloween. But let's not think about that now." He shifted his starry-eyed gaze back to Sammi and started stroking her hair with his right hand.
George groaned and rolled his eyes.

Ginny smooths down the skirt of her robe. After spending so much time in front of the mirror, she knows the dark, royal purple and deep cream pattern of the robe compliment her coloring. She pats her hair for the thousandth time since leaving her dorm room. One of her friends had fixed Ginny's red hair into an elegant combination braid and twist.
That same friend now whispers in Ginny's ear, "Your hair is fine. Quit touching it."
Ginny smiles a little nervously and asks, "You're sure my makeup is okay. Not too heavy? If I walk in there with too much makeup on my brothers will kill me on the spot."
"Ginny, you look fine. Stop worrying. Now move out of the way. You're blocking the door."
Ginny takes a deep breath and walks into the Great Hall. She goes straight to the Gryffindor table and with an almost whispered hello sits down near Hermione, Harry, and Ron.
Two Hufflepuffs

"Ah, Halloween. Candy, pumpkins, spiders, candy, goblins, ghosts, candy, witches..." Bronwyn laughed and elbowed Kendra in the ribs, "Witches!"
Kendra rolled her eyes and stated flatly, "You're so easily amused."
"C'mon, let's get ourselves a good seat!" Bronwyn said, ignoring Kendra's rather unenthusiastic comment and dragged her best friend across the hall to the Hufflepuff table. As a fourth year, she was allowed to wear a dress robe for the occasion, which she proudly wore. The lavender velvet robe shimmered in the candlelight and was accented by two simple silver clips in Bronwyn's hair.
"Where do you think your brother is going to be sitting?" she asked, looking around the grand hall.
Kendra whined, "Oh Bronwyn. Just cut it out will ya? You're really giving me the wiggins, talking about my brother like you want him or something."
Bronwyn raised an eyebrow at Kendra, who sat across the table nervously not making eye contact. She knew Bronwyn had a thing for her brother. Hell, Bronwyn had a thing for a lot of guys. Pretty much all guys, really. But she knew that Bronwyn especially dug her brother. Who wouldn't? He was handsome...tall, gorgeous frame, brown puppy dog eyes, beautiful blonde curls...nice arms, athletic body... But he was her brother, and the thought of her best friend and her older brother together was very unsettling.
Realizing her best friend's discomfort, Bronwyn changed the conversation. "So, let's talk about food."

Two Slytherins

Isolde and Azaelia strolled into the Great Hall like they owned the place. Their chins were held high and they were prepared to run down any little person who stood in their way. When they got to their desired location at the Slytherin table, they scanned the room.
Pyrrhus had yet to arrive, neither had Robert Blackheart for that matter. Both girls couldn't resist bursting into giggles when they both realized what they had been doing. They had it bad big time. Isolde had found herself staring off into space with a smile on her face during class a number of times. Azaelia had confessed that she kept doing the same thing.
Isolde had spent plenty of time before the feast, primping to look good for her man. She wore a burnt orange robe, which caused her brown eyes to stand out more than they usually do. Her hair was down, and she had removed the curls so that her long hair could stretch down her back smoothly.
As the two sat in the Great Hall, waitng for the Halloween feast to begin, they couldn't help but wonder what was taking so long for their beaus to arrive.

Hall

I enter the Great Hall stopping to survey who has already arrived. My robe of enchanted midnight blue gathers more than just a few stares. It is trimmed with cloud-like Celtic knotwork, and you would swear that you could see the whole of infinity in the material. A person could fly their broom at night, and never be seen. I head over to the Ravenclaw table and take a seat.

I take out my dress robes and admire the airy silky material before I put it on. The colour is evasive, being all colours at once - changing hue just as someone decides what it is. I let my hair loose tonight, instead of being tied back. Satisfied that I look my best, I walk to common room to await Cho and Sykra.
Joining the
Gryffindor Table
Author: Majandra
Date: 02-07-02 19:09
Majandra is slow to get ready so by the time she leaves Gryffindor House almost everyone else has left. Glancing one last time in a mirror before going to the Great Hall, she hopes that her light application of makeup will cover how tired and wan she looked. Majandra also hopes that since she's wearing her new dress robe, no one will notice how much weight she suddenly seems to have lost.
As much attention as she seems to draw when acting so absurd during a crush, Majandra decides not to call out to various friends as she enters into the Hall. Instead, she walks with downcast eyes to the Gryffindor table. With a feint smile, Majandra slides into an empty chair near Hermione, Ron, Ginny, and Harry.
Surprises
for Isolde
Author: Pyrrhus
Date: 02-07-02 19:25
Pyrrhus enters the Great Hall, his black robe with turquoise trim billowing slightly with his fast pace. As he sits down next to Isolde he whispers, "Hello, gorgeous," in her ear.
On the day that the announcement for wearing dress robes to the feast was made, Py had gotten Azaelia to tell him what color Isolde's robe is. He already had a Halloween gift for his girl but he'd still immediately sent off an owl for one more thing.
Pyrrhus, having realized that most of the Slytherins know that he and Isolde are boyfriend-girlfriend, reaches over and takes Isolde hand. Winking at Azaelia who knows about the gifts, Py first places in front of Isolde a handmade glass pumpkin filled with Isolde's favorite candies. Next, he produces a corsage made from three perfect black roses which are sure to look smashing against the burnt orange of Isolde's robe.
Getting Ready
Author: Sykra Sawyer

Sykra quickly pulled out all her dress robes and flung them on her bed. She stared at them for a while before Cho, who was also getting ready, finally got annoyed with her.
"Oh jeez Sykra! Just choose one!"
"Okay, okay, okay..." Sykra scanned them a couple more times, then seeing Cho ready to speak again, grabbed one that was a mixture of blue and purple. She put it on and brushed out her long hair. The purple in it matched her robe wonderfully.
After Cho was ready, the two girls went down to meet Aradia in the common room.
"'Bout time!" Aradia said when they got there. She smiled and the three Ravenclaws headed down to the Great Hall for the Halloween feast.
In the Great
Hall
Author: Clara Devaki

Clara and Tempest entered the Great Hall. Clara was looking stunning in her silky green robe that matched her shining eyes exactly. Tempest was looking quite as stunning in her silky blue robe, which matched her eyes.
They took their seat at the Slytherin table, Clara sitting next to Malfoy. He smiled at her as she sat down.
"Hello Clara...Tempest."
"Hi Draco."
"Hey Draco."
"Looking devilish..." He grinned.
Clara beamed, then mumbled a thanks and then brought up a new topic for them to discuss while waiting for the feast to start.
The Odd Couple
Author: Adam Higginton-Smythe
Date: 02-07-02 21:31
Lilah entered the Great Hall with Adam at her side. Her hair was attractively drawn up with two curly strands falling down on each side of her face. Something in her hair was causing it to reflect and shimmer in small beads if the light shone on it correctly. Her deep blue robes matching the Ravenclaw blue also shimmered. She beamed as they reached the tables and received a wave of compliments. Adam let her show off before they sat down at the Ravenclaw table. He looked rather tired and sullen as though Lilah had forced him down. His dress robes were a foggy, mysterious gray tint and relaxed with an opened collar. Adam nodded to a few people who seemed to want to talk with him and turned away as some admirers of his tried to make eye contact with him. Despite the differences in dress they made quite the impression with everyone.
At the table Lilah talked with the nearest fourth year she could. When they brought the conversation on Adam he simply looked up without interested and smiled as if it were expected of him ("Ignore him. He's been spending nights studying Quidditch moves and working with Professor Flitwick on something," was Lilah's response to their concern). As his eye lids began to drop he forced himself to watch the others tables: furthest away Slytherin, then Hufflepuff, and then he turned and looked over at Gryffinor which he seemed the most intrigued by.
"Adam." Lilah was looking at him with unrestrained displeasure on her face.
"What?" He said with annoyance. She glared at him, "Listen. I did you a favor getting you up from that chair and away from those books. If you are going to sit here with this look then you can sit somewhere else because I want to have a good time tonight." He snorted at her and turned away towards Cho across the table. Lilah made a fist and punched him in the arm to get his attention. He turned back unaffected with a slight twinkle in his light blue eyes. She smiled faintly, "One night. You know you didn't even say anything about how I looked tonight."

Compromise
(Finally)

Adam stared back at Lilah not saying a word and turned back to plop his head down onto his arms. He received another punch (he doesn't seem mind - really - I think) causing him to finally looked up and smile, "Was I supposed to?"
Lilah's cheeks flushed crimson as she looked away toward a group of other Ravenclaws who joined the table. Several teachers strained to get past the rowdy group of 5th years who choked the entrance before finally finishing their course by tripping over several petit students before the Gryffindor table (their shrieks were quite moving).
"You really are a guy aren't you, Adam?" Lilah finally replied. "But honestly, you spend more time with your books than with anything else. I simply don't understand you..." She paused to greet several passing people before she gave Adam another thoughtful look, "So are you going to join me or not?"
"It was really your idea to come here in the first place, Lilah." He reminded her before sitting up straight to face her.
"Adam - books are books. They won't suddenly erase themselves if you leave them for a nanosecond. Well, it does depend on what books you are reading - but back to the point; you really have to loosen up! Just tonight, you can forget all about the books and quidditch." She grinned knowingly. "Let's stick to what we always do - whack them."
Adam gave Lilah another annoyed look before he finally stood up. "All right. Just as long as you don't do something stupid tonight."
"Thank you!"
At the Feast
Author: Amelia Davis
Date: 02-07-02 23:07
Amelia walked into the Great Hall wearing her robe of sky blue. She took her place next to her friends at the Gryffindor table. Amelia smiled as she waved to her sister who was seated a few seats away. Halloween was her favorite holiday...she really missed all the pranks she use to pull but her parents came down on her this year. Something about how it's her seventh year and how she really should avoid trouble. Amelia shook her head at that though then went back to conversation with her friends.
Feast Time
Author: Nessiah Wenton

Nessiah grinned as she smiled at her fellow Hufflepuffs before sitting down next to her friends at her house table. She was dressed in a multi-colored satin robe. Nessiah just loved feasts. She began to converse with her friends, anticipating what the feast would bring.
Halloween
Author: Hannah Abbott
Date: 02-08-02 15:09
Hannah followed Adam and Lilah into the Great Hall and headed toward the Hufflepuff table.
She had taken a little bit longer then she had expected to get ready for the evening. Her hair had been giving her grief. It was one of those days when her curls just didn't want to behave. Since it wasn't often that they had the chance to dress up, she wanted to look her best. At least her dress robes were perfect. Hannah wore a velvet magenta robe with silver trim.
When she arrived to the Hufflepuff table she sat down near Bronwyn and Kendra. They were discussing food, a very appropriate topic for before the Halloween feast. It wasn't as though everyone's mouth wasn't already watering. All the good food; carrot cake, caramel covered apples, pumpkin soup...
Does this
Dress Robe Make me Look Fat?
Author: Prote Spacy
Date: 02-08-02 19:04
Prote and Neo walked from the Hufflepuff common room towards the Great Hall for the Halloween feast.
"Hey Neo..."
Neo turned around, "What?"
Prote looked to see if anyone was listening, then said softly... "Does this dress robe make me look fat?" he asked.
