"Oy, there, Cho! How's it goin'?" George asked their fellow Quidditch player and friend. She may have been from a different house team, but that didn't mean they couldn't be friends.
The three engaged in conversation as the man helped Cho get her books together. "Ya have anythin' ta do the rest o' the afternoon, Cho? Fred, Bill, Charlie an' I are goin' ta go over an' get some ice cream. Ya wanna join us?" George asked as Bill and Charlie joined them. "We've got our books, so if ya want us to wait for ya -- be no problem!"
George awaited his friend Cho's reply.

"Lostark why don't you introduce yourself to the other students," Mom said.
"Alright, Mom," I said, getting up and I walked up to a young woman around my age. She had a lot of hair. She was fighting a redheaded friend and the kid from the robe shop over a gold box. "Hello, I'm Lostark," I said, lumbering over fellow students.

She places the book in her bag, nodding as she answers their invitation, "I've got nothing to do the rest of the afternoon, I'd be glad to go to the ice cream shop with you."
She pauses at the door, waiting for their lead to the ice cream shop.
Harry Speaks
Author: Ron Weasley
Date: 11-20-01 21:09
Harry, Hermione, and Ron looked at each other, puzzled. Finally Harry stepped up to the disembodied mouth. Hermione moved, as if to speak, but Harry stopped her with his eyes. "It's probably just a message from Sirius. I've been trying to tell you two that I've seen a bird like this before, with a post. Don't you remember, Ron? That's how Sirius sent me letters last summer before the Quidditch World Cup!"
"I think I remember you telling me that." Ron wrinkled his brow. "Oh, yeah, Hedwig didn't like those birds very much! Maybe we should let him try it, Hermione."
Reluctantly Hermione agreed. Her right hand, however, traveled down to her pocket and firmly clenched her wandjust in case.
Harry looked straight at the mouth. "I'm here. What's your message?"
But the mouth did not answer.
"I think you have to state your name." Hermione whispered.
"Alright then." Harry took another step forward. "Harry Potter."

"Well, come on then. I'm 'ungry for raspberry ice cream," Fred stated, waving good-bye to his parents and Ginny, who were going to head over to the Magical Menagerie to look at the various sorts of wizarding creatures available for purchase.
George led the way, opening the door for Cho and winking at Fred, who immediately scowled and crossed his arms. The group spoke about Quidditch and the start of the term as they approached the parlor. As they neared, they noticed Harry, Ron, Hermione, and some other fellow standing outside with a magical golden box.
Fred noticed the looks of alarm on both Ron and Hermione's face. "Alright then, Ron?" He asked when Ron's gaze shifted from Harry and the box to his other brothers.
"Alright, Fred," he answered hesitantly.
"Good. Well, we're gonna get some ice cream. TTFN!" He gave a little wave and one by one they filed into the parlor. Harry's gaze lingered on Cho, who gave him a smile before following the boys inside.

There was a loud crashing sound as Sam entered Flourish and Blott's. Some girl had knocked over a display case and looked very embarrassed.
"Poor gurl." Sam chuckled to herself. Knowing she'd hate it if that happened to her, Sam walked over and helped her.
"You alright?" Sam asked.
The girl was burning red. "Y-yes..." Everyone around started laughing. Samantha glared at them all for having no heart.
"What are ya lot laughin' at?! Could've happened to any o'yah! Now mind yar own business!" She yelled.
She turned back to the girl. "Don' mind any o'em. Me name's Samantha."
"I-I'm Sykra. I suppose I'm gunna have to pick all this up..."
"You sure will!" The owner (apparently) shouted.
Sam jerked toward him. "Mind your tone mister! We'll both pick 'em up!"
The man looked furious. "Don't you talk to me that way lil missy! You need a better attitude! Now get busy!"
Samantha, still glaring, walked up to him. "And you, sir, need to treat your customers with more respect." With that said she turned and went back to help Sykra. "Now, when this is all set up again, it'll be even better than befar!" Sam gave him one last hard look and got busy.

"Well, G'day kids. It's the 'alf hour, so all Sundaes are free! What'll ya 'ave?" The man behind the counter asked, grinning.
George motioned for Cho to go first, so she stepped up and ordered as George gave Fred yet another wink. She ordered and then it was George and Fred's turn.
"I'll 'ave Chocolate Peanutbutter with Butterscotch syrup! Fred?" George ordered, then waited for his brother to order.
"Ummm, I'll 'ave . . . Raspberry Ice Cream with Chocolate Syrup and nuts, Thanks!" Fred said, licking his lips.
"Roight, then! That's three sundaes comin' up!" The man said, going about making their sundaes as the friends went to find a table.

Hermione drew in a quick breath, anticipating something truly horrible from the golden box. The wait was almost too hard to bear. As she stood there behind Harry and Ron, watching the illuminated mouth shimmer as it spoke, what was apparently a new student approached.
"Hello, I'm Lostark," he said.
"Oh!" Hermione gasped, startled. "Hello...Lostark." Her gaze wavered between him and the glowy mouth as her grip tightened on the wand in her pocket. "I'm Hermione..."

Sykra gave Samantha a nervous smile. "T-thanx..." she said.
Samantha smiled back. "Anytime." About thirty minutes later, the two girls had finished putting the display case back up.
"There!' Sykra exclaimed. "We're finally done!"
"Yeah." Samatha said, giving the owner a cold gaze. "And it looks MUCH better than it did!"
The owner walks up to them. "Yeh, yeh. Now why don' you two girls pay for ya books 'n' get."
Glaring at the man, Samantha replies, "Fine! But you really should learn to give more respect to your customers."
"Ya just kids," was the reply.
They pay for their books as Samantha says coldly, "It doesn't matter. We supply you with service." She grabs Sykra by the arm and leads her out of the bookstore.

"I'm a new student at Hogwarts," I said.
"That's nice. I'm a fifth year. You look like a graduate," she said, noticing I was seven feet tall.
"I'm only sixteen, well of last Thursday," I said.
"And you are a first year?" the redheaded boy said. Harry, the boy from the robe shop, was listening to the golden box. "I'm Ron," the redhead said, looking at me half fearful, half angry.
"I met Harry at the robe shop," I said.
"Oh, hi Lostark," Harry said, stuffing the box in his pocket like a cell phone.
I continued to stare at Hermione.
Insignificant
Fools and Deadly Potions
Author: Draco Malfoy
Date: 11-21-01 03:15
I entered one of the many chambers in my house in hopes of avoiding my father but was unsuccessful and had to give him an explanation. "Sorry Dad, the Weasleys got in my way and started to threaten me."
"You should know better than to let those poor insignificant fools push you around like that. You are better than they are, you show them that." He said very sardonically.
"Yes Dad, sorry Dad." I replied silkily.
"Now we really have to get to business. Your dawdling has cost us very precious time that will be very difficult to catch up."
"What is it you want me to do father?" I answered with a smile in hopes that we might do something evil.
"I want you, my dear son, to go down to my chambers and get me these potions." he said while handing me a large piece of parchment. "Oh and don't forget," he said to his son's retreating back. "Do not, I repeat DO NOT!! They are very dangerous and can kill you and we don't want that now do we."
I turned skulking from my father and said in a monotonous annoyed voice. "Yes, Father."

Banging on
the Bricks
Author: Adam Higginton-Smythe
Date: 11-21-01 05:55
Adam pulled at his hair looking at the bricks behind the Leaky Cauldron Pub. He'd reach out his hand and then pull it back, unsure of which of the identical bricks was the portal to Diagon Alley. He jumped a foot as he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"What a spass you are! Have you forgotten the brick again, 'cause it's right here bud." Lilah tapped the correct brick and grabbed Adam's arm before her nutty mother could give them both a goodbye kiss. Adam's single parent Muggle mum had dispersed early attempting to maintain her Muggle life. She was too devoted to his wizard father to remarry or to deny his last wish of Adam attending Hogwarts, but she ensured he have as 'normal' a life as possible. Lilah meanwhile lived with constant annoyance, especially with her dizzy, loud, embarrassing (get the hint?) mum, and 'lovely' family.
They walked down Diagon Alley gathering what materials were needed for their fourth year at Hogwarts. They already had been yelling at each other over a book they need.
Lilah won the match when she stomped out of the store with The Standard Book of Spells - Grade 4 leaving Adam to get his own and run after her. They crisscrossed the Alley making fun of each other's choice of dress robe for the Yule Ball.

It takes a while, but I finally get fitted for my robes. Leaving the shop I hear something as irresistible as a magnetism charm - FREE SUNDAES!!!!!!!!!!! I speed over to the parlor but find the door blocked by several people. I recognize one immediately, Harry Potter! However, I promised myself long ago not to fall over myself if I met him.
"Hello, is there a problem here?" I notice them all staring rather distrustfully at a large boy. I recognize him from the robe shop. "Is everything alright. Can I help? My name is Aradia Forest."
A Wager
Author: Fred Weasley
Date: 11-21-01 18:38
"We've been practicin' a lil bit, eh George?" Fred answered between mouthfuls.
George nodded, licking butterscotch syrup from his spoon. "I'm lookin' forward to our match, Cho. Should be loads of fun!"
Fred scraped the last bit of ice cream from his bowl and announced, "We're going to kick Ravenclaw's arse!" He then high-fived his brother.
"I don't think so!" Cho retorted, smiling. "You haven't a chance against us, boys!"
"Oh yeah?" George stood, placing his hands on his hips. "Care to make a lil wager, then?"
"Alright!" Cho said, getting to her feet. "What are the terms?"
Fred grinned, dipping his spoon into his brother's bowl.
George, unaware that Fred was stealing bites of his sundae, raised an eyebrow and replied, "If Gryffindor wins, you 'ave to do our 'omework for an entire month. And! You and your teammates 'ave to retrieve my dad's Ford Anglia, which is currently romping 'round the dark forest."
"I hardly think I can agree to something for my teammates when they aren't here, George!" Cho laughed.
"Alroight, fine. Jus' the 'omework, then." George grinned and folded his arms, "And if Ravenclaw wins?"
