Many Happy Returns

Minerva McGonagall was not one to give all of her students birthday presents, but she did however wish them a most happy of birthdays.

At breakfast that morning, Minerva made her way over to her house table and approached Hermione, Ron, and Harry. The surface of the table was covered in presents.

"Good morning, Miss Granger," she greeted, happily.

Hermione returned the smile, holding some type of book close to her. "Good morning, Professor McGonagall!"

McGonagall smiled. "Happy birthday, dear, and many happy returns!"

"Oh, why, thank you, Professor! Thank you very much!" Hermione grinned.

"Of course, my Dear. See you in class!"

And she left, her day's schedule running through her head. So many things to catch up on!

Birthday Wish

After Hannah had finished her breakfast she walked over to the Gryffindor table to where Hermione, a fellow prefect, was sitting. Hermione was flipping through a photo album. "Hermione, Happy Birthday!" wished Hannah as she handed Hermione a hand made card.

Hermione took the card, "Thank you Hannah."

Prote entered the Great Hall searching for Neo. He spotted Hannah Abbott at the Gryffindor table and decided to ask if she has seen Neo anywhere.

"Hey, Hannah?" said Prote. Hannah turned around "Oh! Hi Prote! What's up?" Hannah asked. "Have you seen Neo anywhere?" asked Prote. Prote looked at Hermione and Harry.

"I have. He ran off after giving me this cake," said Hermione. Prote then cracked into a smile. "Oh, don't mind Neo. He's just shy around girls his age! HA!!" Prote explained. "As you have probably noticed Neo was sweating, stuttering and his eye was twitching. Believe me, I've seen him panic only too many times!"

Hannah and Hermione laughed, and Prote looked at the table covered in stuff. "All these belong to you Hermione?" Prote asked. Hermione looked at all of her presents "Oh, yes! You see..." Hermione started. "Today is her birthday," said Harry.

Prote smiled. "It is?" he said. Hermione nodded. "Well happy birthday! Here..." Prote reached into his pocket and pulled out three bottles of butterbeer. "I've heard something about a birthday going on, but I didn't know whose it was, so I bought these for you. I guess you can have that with the cake that Neo gave you." said Prote. He handed Hermione the butterbeer.

"So I'll be seeing you in Hogsmeade?" Prote asked. Hermione nodded, "Yes."

"Well, see ya! And happy birthday!"

I skip into the Hall singing "Happy Birthday" loudly (thanks to the magic of the SONORUS charm) when I reach Hermione at the Gryffindor table. She is admiring a photo album with pictures of her, Ron and Harry smiling, waving and having fun together.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY," I boom, then look sheepish . . . forgot to undo the charm . . . "Quietus! Happy birthday! I didn't know what to get you, so I owe you something. If you see anything you like at Hogsmeade let me know and I'll get it for you. Have a TERRIFIC DAY!!!"

After she finished eating, Sykra walked over to the Gryffindor table. "Happy Birthday, Hermione!" She handed her a package. "It's some books...Hope ya like them!"

"Thanks, Sykra." Hermione smiled.

"Ya very muchly welcome!" Sykra grinned. "Well I betta get going...hope ya have a great birthday...c-ya!" "Ok c-ya!"

Hermoine said as Sykra left the Great Hall.

I walk over to the Gryffindor table where Hermione is admiring her photo album and is surrounded by presents.

"Happy birthday, Hermione," I say, smiling.

"Thank you, Amerah," she says.

"I didn't really know what to get you," I confess. "I do have a card though."

"That's all right," says Hermione. "And thank you for your card."

"You're welcome," I say, then I take my place at the Hufflepuff table.

Hermione's Birthday

I go to the Gryffindor table where Hermione is happily enjoying her birthday and admiring all her presents.

"Happy birthday, Hermione," I say, smiling.

"Why thank you, Professor Lupin!" says Hermione.

"Have a good day," I say, then I take my place at the staff table for breakfast.

Deep in Thought

Snape watched Remus walk over to the staff table (after wishing Ms. Granger a happy birthday *rolls eyes*).

"Good morning Severus!" Remus said. Snape grunted, and Remus took his place at the table. Snape seemed to be deep in thought...

Snape looked over to the Gryffindor table where Mr. Potter and his friends sat. Snape noticed Remus staring at him with question written all over his face.

So Snape went back to his thoughts...
