Getting Ready for Term
Author: Minerva McGonagall
Date: 11-15-01 03:07

Minerva McGonagall was known for being extremely strict, and an extreme non-nonsense sort of person. She rarely showed her excitement or emotions to people, and did not plan to start. Although, today -- today was an exception.

She bustled about, checking on the other professors who were setting up and cleaning their classrooms. She also passed by Argus Filch as he was buffing up one of the Coat of Arms that stood near one of the main stair cases. They mumbled a Good Morning to each other as she passed by. Secretly, Minerva was very excited about the start-of-term. She enjoyed teaching, and enjoyed her students. Well, some of them.

As she came into the Great Hall she found several elfs and some of the Professors and Hagrid decorating for the Start-of-Term Feast. It was to be a grand feast, indeed! And the Sorting Hat was all ready!

She then left the Hall and continued about the Castle doing this and that.

Terrorizin' Mum...Again
Author: George Weasley
Date: 11-15-01 03:47

"But, Mum! Why can't we go with Bill an' Charlie?" George whined to his mum as Fred stood there dancing from foot to foot, his hands held up, folded as he begged mum to go with their older brothers who offered to take them to Diagon Alley for books and the like for school.

"No, an' that's final! Ya don't want me to get y'father into this, do you?" Mum stood there with her hands on her hips.

Fred shot George a look out of the corner of his eye wondering whether to give up her not. "Mum, plllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?" Fred begged along with him.

"Because, your father an' I are goin' with you, " Mum said, turning back around to face the stove to finish dinner. "No tellin' what you boys will get into going by yourselves."

"Muuuuuuuuuum! We're not little boys anymore! We're seventeeeeeeen!" Fred and George had a habit of whining when they wanted something really badly.

Mum whirled around, her face getting red. Uh, oh! They had done it! "IF YOU TWO DON'T -- ALL RIGHT, THAT'S IT! JUST YOU WAIT 'TILL YOUR FATHER GETS HOME!!!" She shouted as Fred and George ran up to their room for safety.

Terrorizin' Mum an' Crocodile Tears

"Blimey, George!" Fred exclaimed, shutting the door behind him. "We've done it now! Dad's gonna wring our lil necks for whinging to Mum!"

George sighed and stuffed his hands in his pockets. "There's nothing we can do 'bout it now. You shouldn't have thrown a wobbler. You only made it worse."

"I made it worse? Your tantrum was jus' as bad as mine!" Fred folded his arms and glared at his twin. George merely stared back, causing both of them to burst into laughter. They high-fived moments before their father's voice echoed through the house.

"FREEEEEEED!!!! GEOOOORGE!!!! Get down 'ere this instance!"

"Roight, Dad!" Fred called out and then said in a lowered tone, "Bring out the waterworks, George." He then opened the door and trudged down the stairs with George at his heels.

Arthur Weasley watched his sons through stern eyes. "You two 'ave some explainin' to do," he said, curtly.

"Mum is just a little wound up," George began, glancing back and forth between mother and father. "We wanted Bill and Charlie to take us to Diagon Alley, but Mum insisted that we all go as a family."

"So," Fred chimed in, "We've decided that since it is our last year at 'Ogwarts..." He broke off with a sniffle.

"Mum...Dad..." George wiped a non-existing tear from his cheek. "We want you to help us with our back-to-school shopping."

Molly Weasley couldn't help but clutch her palms together and smile. "Oh, my babies!" She rushed towards them and threw an arm around each of their necks, pulling them in close for a big bear hug. "My sweet boys! See, you will always need your mother!"

"Yeah...roight..." Fred gasped, trying to release himself from his mother's grasp.

Mrs. Weasley smiled and let go of them, touching each of their cheeks.

Mr. Weasley cleared his throat, "Roight then. We need to get to Diagon Alley straight away. I 'ave to be back at work in a few 'ours. RONNNN! GINNNY! It's time to go!"

Ron and Ginny rushed down the stairs, and together the family gathered around the fireplace. Mr. Weasley threw some Floo Powder into the fireplace, causing the fire to turn a bright green. "Molly, you go first." One by one, each member of the Weasley family stepped into the fireplace and spoke the words, 'The Leaky Cauldron'.

"Samantha! If ya don' harry up, ware goin' ta miss ore flight!" Came a voice from downstairs.

A young witch named Samantha Thatcher looked up from the magazine she was reading and glanced toward the door. "Yeah, Dah! I'm comin'! Just a minute!" Samantha turned back to her twin brother. "Well, I guess this is it again, huh?"

Samuel hugged her. "Don' worry, Sammi Gurl. The school year isn't that long, just a few months." He pushed her back and held her shoulders. "Look on the bright side! You get to go to Hogwarts! I have to stay here. You're lucky!"

"But I don't understand why you can't come with me, Samuel! It's just not fair!" Sam pushed his hands off her. "Sam, they shouldn't be pulling US apart like this! It's not right! We're seventeen years old, we can make our choices!!" Samantha shouted.

'Oui...'er we go again.' Samuel was used to Samantha doing this. She did it every time one of them had to leave. With a sigh he said, "Sammi Gurl, why do ya hav' ta do this every time, eh? Come on, just this once, don't put up such a fuss, okay? Mum hates it."

Sammi folded her arms. "Alright, alright. I'll chill out! Come on. Better go before Dah gets mad at me...like he always seems to be." Sammi sighed.

Downstairs they all said good-bye.

"Now, Sammi Gurl, you be good this year! I don' wan' to hear about you gettin' into trouble this year, right?" Sam had pulled Sammi aside.

She gave him a long hug. "I'll try Sam. I luv ya."

"I luv you too, Sammi Gurl." Their hug finally ceased and Sammi got into the car.

"I'll write ya every day, Sam! Promise!" She yelled back to Samuel.

"I'll do the same! I luv you, Sis! See you next year!" Sam shouted back.

"Good-bye Sam!" Sammi yelled with tear-filled eyes.

The House
Author: Samantha Thatcher

The car pulled up the long driveway to the new house just outside London. Samantha stepped out and looked up at the building that was her new home. She gave a sigh and shake of her head. 'It's always gotta be a big ol' manson don't it?' She thought.

Sammi grabbed her bags from the trunk of the car. As she walked up to the house, a man came out. "I'll take your bags, Miss." He said.

"No. I can 'andle it. I'm a big gurl." Was Sam's reply.

"Samantha!" Mr. Thatcher shouted. "He's our butler! Give 'im your bags, that's what he's paid to do!"

Sam turned and glared at her father and shoved her bags at the butler. "Fine." She said and gripping her hands at her side she went into the house. "So, sir. Where's my room?" Sam addressed the butler.

"Follow me, Miss."

When they arrived, Sam fell on her bed and stared up at the ceiling. The butler set her bags on the floor and said, "If you need anything, Miss, just ring that bell." And he shut the door behind him.

Sam got up and picked up a letter addressed to her sitting on the desk. She read it through and found a list of supplies needed for her schooling at Hogwarts. She went downstairs and found her father in the study room sitting at his desk.

"Dah? Could I have some money for school supplies?" She asked.

"Of course, dear. Here." He gave her a hand full of money. "Do you know where to go?"

"Yes Dah, you've told me. Diagon Alley in London."

"Very well. I'll have Mury take you."

"Who's Mury?"

"He's the driver, of course. Now go on."

Sam rolled her eyes and left.

*~*~*~*~*

They arrived at a place called "The Leaky Cauldron". Sam leaned up against the driver's seat. "I'm goin' by meself alright? I don' need anyone tagin' along."

"Yes, Ma'am." Mury said with a look of worry.

"I'll be alright!"

Computer Shopping (Tokyo)

I went to a certain shop. It was called The Smelly Fish. It was like Diagon Alley, only in Japan they had a computer expert who made a new teaching aide for Defense Against Dark Arts teachers, a MVR system.

*Hello, is my Magical Virtual Reality System ready?* I said to the shop owner.

*Yes, it has the requirements you want down to the letter,* said the shop keeper. A computer manufacturer smiled and revealed a small box. *Just open it and out come two helmets and MVR suits. It also has a port connection so you can monitor it with your computer,* he said.

*Thank you,* I said and left with the tiny box for London and then Hogwarts.

Getting Ready for Term
Author: Hagrid
Date: 11-15-01 23:31

Hagrid kept very still.

Very very still.

If he even breathed deeply the Elves got worried.

Being as large as Hagrid ....(and as clumsy) was the Elves worst nightmare.

"Careful Hagrid" he heard for the hundred and second time.

"I gotta go an' check a load of stuff for Professor Dumbledore," was his rather lame excuse as he trundled out of the main door, bending as he did.

He heard the elves cheer loudly as he made his way back to his hut by the forest.

Singing quietly to himself he thought about the term to come. He was now a Pupil...a Teacher (of sorts) and the Keeper of the Keys and Grounds.

"An'" he said out loud "I gets ter 'av a wand jus like the others."

The squirrels and small animals in hearing distance began to think about living elsewhere.

Hagrid didn't care. Hagrid was obliviously happy.

Dumbledore's Rounds
Author: Prof. Dumbledore
Date: 11-16-01 02:51

Dumbledore sat at his desk going through some papers and he noticed that they had a new 7th year student. Samantha Thatcher, transfer student from Scotland.

'Hmm, intresting.' He thought. Dumbledore decided to have a talk to Minerva about this new student.

He found her in her office shuffling through papers as well. "Good day Minerva!" Dumbledore greeted.

Minerva looked up, "Oh, hello Albus! What brings you here?"

"I just came to talk to you about a new 7th year student we have." Dumbledore said.

"Oh, you mean Samantha Thatcher?"

Dumbledore looked confused. "Yes...You know her then?"

Minerva chuckled under her breath. "Yes I do. I'm good friends with her parents." She smiled.

Dumbledore smiled with a twinkle in his eye. "Well, that's good to know! She knows someone here."

"Umm, Albus? I was wondering, I think it best if she where in Gryffindor with me." Minerva asked. "She's been to so many different schools because of her father's job. I think she would be more comfortable there."

Dumbledore pondered for a bit. Then came to his conclusion. "I think that will work just fine." He twinkled.

"Oh great! Thank you Albus, she'll love that." She cheered.

Dumbledore laughed and said good-bye as he left her office.

McGonagall's Office
Author: Minerva McGonagall
Date: 11-17-01 05:12

After Dumbledore had visited Minerva in her office, she felt a bit of the pressure for the oncoming term. They had to break in a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, and Hagrid was now officially back in school. But, she was rather looking forward to the school year. She could not wait for the Start-of-Term Feast. The new transfer student, Samantha Thatcher, was one girl she had not seen in a long time. It would be good to see her after a few years had gone by, and Dumbledore was kind enough to allow Samantha to be housed in Gryffindor with her. That way, if she needed anything, Minerva would be right there.

Well, enough of this momentary procrastination. She needed to go over her schedules for school.

Visiting Professor McGonagall

"Oh, hello. I'm Dr. Endikut," I said.

"Oh, please sit down. Just so you know, Professor Dumbledore is now the headmaster and I assumed the postion of Transfiguration teacher," she said.

"Oh, blast! Loved it when he turned veggies into candy," I said.

"I do not teach that!" she said with an eyebrow raised.

"Not even chocolate?" I asked.

The Transfiguration teacher looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "I think it would be wise of us if we investigated your past," she said.

"After Hogwarts, I went to study for a doctorate in Defense from Dark Arts. I met my now ex-wife at Cowboils, where I taught, had a child, and got divorced in the eighties because of personal differences. During the sixtes and seventies I was a hippie and did drugs, but I have been clean for more than twenty years. I have lived in Texas and Scotland. During the seventies I was more worried about Vietnam than I was You-know-who, the guy that tried to kill Harry Potter. Never been bitten by a werewolf or vampire, although I was a liscensed vampire hunter, and I pay my wife alimony on time. Any questions?" I said.

"Anything else?" she asked, as I noticed a copy of the Daily Prophet with a headline, "Prison Break in Scotland."

I stood up and grabbed the newspaper. "Can you leave me a message at Ravenclaw house? I need to do a few more errands," I said, heading to the Owlery to get Hishibar to send a note to a certain friend for supplies.
