Saturday Morning

The first couple weeks of school flew by. Harry had recovered rather quickly from his fainting spell and was soon out and about, much to the relief of both Hermione and Ron. Ron was still secretly working on his project, not leaving a single hint behind for anyone to pick up. Everyday his smile would be bigger and bigger, indicating that whatever he was doing behind closed doors was almost complete. Meanwhile, Hermione kept to her studies, always trying to stay one step ahead of her teachers.

She sat in the Gryffindor common room the Saturday morning of the Quidditch trials, engrossed in her Transfiguration textbook. Her Defense Against the Dark Arts books lay scattered on the floor beneath her feet; she knew not what to do with them, since the mysterious disappearance of their new professor.

Harry lay curled in a ball in a neighboring chair. A copy of Emma, opened to the second page, lay across his lap. Quiet snores escaped his lips, causing Hermione to roll her eyes. She prodded him in the arm with her quill.

"Harry, wake up. You're drooling all over that book!"

Harry rubbed his eyes and opened them in time to catch Ron leaping down the stairs. "Where are you off to, Ron?"

"Oh, no where. I'll see you two later," and with that, he left the common room, leaving Harry and Hermione to look at each other with raised eyebrows.

Studying? OMG

George lay in his four-poster bed, staring up at the ceiling. He didn't think that Muggle Studies would be so boring. The books he had to get were horrid.

Where in the name of Merlin did Muggles think up these kinds of stories?!

He rolled over to face Fred in the opposite bed, and his stomach growled--pretty loudly, too.

"Oy, will you shut it? I'm tryin' ta sleep over 'ere!" Fred said from beneath his covers somewhere.

George threw a pillow at him. "Well, I'm 'ungry. Get up ya lazy bag 'o beans!"

Fred stirred and groaned, then flipped the covers off. He flung his feet over the side of the bed and stretched, yawning.

"Yer pj shirt is buttoned wrong, Bro," George said, chuckling as he pulled on his clothes.

Saturday Mornin'

Fully dressed and robed, the Weasley twins made their way down to the Great Hall for breakfast.

"Today's the Quidditch trials," George said, matter-of-factly.

Fred nodded, still sleepy. "Yeah."

"An' where's yer girlfriend, Freddy-Boy? She was s'posed ta meet us for breakfast!" George exclaimed as he sat down in his regular chair.

"She's comin', I'm sure of it. Maybe she over-slept or something. Or, maybe she's nervous for the trials?" Fred shrugged as he picked at a biscuit with his knife. "Pass the jam, please."

George slid the jam down to his brother. "Maybe. But, that doesn't seem like Sam. Plus, she has ta be out there pretty soon, ya know? Like, half an hour."

Quidditch Tryouts
Author: Oliver Wood
Date: 01-07-02 00:31

"Good morning everyone...M'name's Oliver Wood and I'll be fillin' in fer Madam Hooch; like I 'ave been since the start o' the year." Oliver rose his brows and took a breath. "Anyway." He took out a pen and notepad.

"Now, I 'ave a list o' everyone's names here. Right...Prote Spacey, Neo Anderson, Aradia Forest, Amerah Patterson, David Morrison, Angel Mundt, Holly Markes and Samantha Thatcher. Is that everyone? Not a big bunch! At least it's even." He smiled. "Alright then, this is what's going to happen; I am goin' to split you all in 'alf and then split all the returning players in 'alf. Then put the halves together and have you face off. O'course I'll also, alternate the newbies' positions. There will be scou'ers among you all and have them report back to me about the good and bad things they have observed that I have missed. You with me so far?"

Everyone nodded. "Good. Now... Neo, Amerah, Prote and Angel, you're one 'alf and Samantha, Aradia, David and Holly you are the other 'alf. Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, will be one side. Ravenclaw and Slytherin you are the other side for the returning players. Prote, your team will join Gryffindor an' Hufflepuff. Samantha, you're teamed with Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Fred, George, Lilah, Adam, Harry, Cho, Hannah and Draco, you're the scouters.... Am I goin' too fast fer ya?" He paused for a moment scribbling something down on his note pad.

"Hmm...Let's see...Samantha you'll play as keeper, since the only position for Gryffindor open is keeper alright?"

"Aye, figured I would be anyway."

"Good. Umm...Prote and Neo I'll have you play as chasers first off. And Amerah as a keeper. Aradia...chaser. The rest of you, your own positions." Oliver finished scribbling on the notepad. "Remember we're not playing with the snitch; Harry, Cho, Hannah and Draco, so just scout. Alright let's start!"

Yesser!
Author: Aradia Forest
Date: 01-07-02 06:45

I promptly hop on my broom and soar over to my spot. The only downer, and that is a VERY minor one, is that I have to play with SLYTHERIN... EWWWW!!!! I can do it, just this one...soon enough, I will be beating them in competition. I wave at Amerah, who I have seen around the school, and draw my finger across my throat in a mock-threat. "RAVENCLAW WILL WIN!!!"

Wait for Me!!
Author: Ron Weasley
Date: 01-07-02 06:46

Ron sprinted hard towards the Quidditch pitch–he was going to be late. He had stayed up almost the entire night putting the finishing touches on Hermione's gift. Only three more days to go...

Suddenly, something caught his foot and sent Ron sprawling on the ground. "Oh, bloody hell!" And in that instant Ron realized something; he was holding a broom. Shaking his head in shame that he hadn't hopped on earlier, off he flew.

Ron reached the Quidditch pitch just as Oliver Wood was finishing his announcements. Wood turned around, "Oh, 'ello Ron. Come ta watch, 'ave yeh?"

Ron stood up confidently, "Actually, I'm here to try out. Here's a note from Madam Hooch." He held out the note for Wood, while the other players whispered wildly. Even Fred and George were absolutely shocked. Sam flashed Ron a big smile.

Wood frowned, "Yeh know, Ron, there's only one position open for Gryffindor."

"Doesn't matter, really." Ron winked at Sam. "I'm just here to play some Quidditch."

Scouting

Fred took to his broom and flew high into the air, his eyes never leaving Samantha as she joined the opposing team.

"Well, George. Let's see wot she can do," he said to his brother, who was hovering nearby.

George grinned, "And Ron. Who knew 'e'd ever step foot onto the Quidditch field?"

"You know why e's doin' it, dontcha?"

"Same reason you'd be doin' it if you weren't already a player," George snickered, glancing at Samantha who was doing a couple tricks on her broom.

Fred remained silent choosing to ignore that comment and turned his attention to the other scouters on his team. Hannah was zipping around her side of the field, keeping her eyes on the newbies, while the Ravenclaw and Slytherin players did the same. Harry had come only minutes before Ron's appearance. He had looked extremely tired upon arrival, but the cool air and the excitement of Quidditch soon woke him up.

The game began and although it was snitchless, it proved to be an exciting match. Samantha did well, keeping the quaffle from reaching the hoops several times. The returning members were equally impressed with Aradia's talents as chaser. She was quick on her broom, always able to capture the ball and zoom across the skies towards the hoops. Ron did surprisingly well, too, having obviously learned a great deal from Samantha's private lessons. Fred's cheeks burned at the thought.

On the opposing team, Prote, Neo, and Amerah proved their worth as Quidditch players, leaving no doubt in Fred's mind that they would get positions on their house teams.

Quidditch this season would certainly be featuring a number of talented players...

'Tis the Season

"Boy, it's good to be back on me broom!" George said as he did a couple of dips, and a few flips, and a barrel roll over some of the first years and Samantha.

Fred laughed, "We'll get the cup, don'tcha know it!"

"Ach, 'course we will!" Sam said, as she, too hopped into the air on her broom and flew up near George and Fred.

"Lee still goin' ta be our announcer this term?" George asked his twin who was flying side-by-side Samantha. They swooped down toward him.

"Dunno," he shrugged. "I s'pose he will. It's his job."

"Roight. Well, race you two down to the end stands an' back? Ready?" George said, leaning forward on his broom.

"Ready!" Both Sam and Fred shouted in unison.

And they zoomed off and came back again. Sam won. Again. She was the one that beat them to the stands.

"Blimey, Gal. You're good!" George said, as he looked around a bit, watching the other students on their brooms; playing tag, doing tricks and whatnot.

"Thanks, George!" Sam exclaimed, but she wasn't looking at him. She was looking at Fred.

"You're better than I thought, Fred!" she said, smiling at him.

George rolled his eyes, then looked around for his younger brother.

"Oy, Ron!" He called at the younger boy with flaming red hair.

Ron came flying over. "Yeah, George?"

"Where you learn ta fly like that, kid?" George asked, puzzled.

Ron shrugged, still holding onto his broom. "Dunno. Just--did it, I guess."

"Well, keep that up and you'll make the team, I'm sure of it, boy!" George grinned, encouragingly.

An Open Invitation
Author: Adriana Fairchild
Date: 01-08-02 22:14

Adriana sat in her classroom, rereading a few of the books she assigned her new students. Teaching wasn't really something she had ever considered, but she surprisingly found it enjoyable. She finished rereading a chapter of Emma and then moved on to her own assignment, chapter ten in A Beginners' Guide to Transfiguration. Magic had actually been coming to Adriana much easier than she had expected. Thankfully though, none of the students knew she wasn't a fully trained witch.

Once she was done reading she left her classroom to post a notice outside her door. It read:

Attention Students and Faculty:
I would like to invite anyone who is interested to attend any of my classes. I will post a list of times and what books we are reading as soon as possible. Extra copies of all books being discussed in class will be in the back of the room.
Sincerely,
Professor Adriana Fairchild

Adriana really hoped that people would come and sit in on her classes. She felt that there was a strong negativity towards Muggles and to be honest, it pissed her off. She heard kids in the hallways taunting others by calling them "mudbloods" and frankly some of the teachers were no better. Adriana wanted everyone to appreciate the magic of just being human. After all, she'd been a Muggle all her life and still felt closer to them than the witches and wizards at Hogwarts.

And then there was Harry. Dumbledore thought she should wait until just the right time to tell him the truth. Adriana sighed, he was a great kid. Actually, most of her students were; Hermione, Ron, Sam, the twins--when they weren't being the class clowns, Jet, well, all of them really.

Adriana left her post on the door and headed off to the Great Hall. Quidditch try outs should have been over and she wanted to find Samantha and the twins and see how they did. She didn't quite understand the game that Ron Weasley tried so desperately to explain to her in class, but she was still excited for them. And honestly, there was nothing else to do. She was bored. A month ago she was a broke twenty-two year old in New York City. Now she was a witch teaching at an isolated boarding school for magic in the UK. Adriana sighed, go figure.

Offices

Dumbledore sat in his office, thinking about Adriana Fairchild and how she could use some help learning her magic. She was about the same age has his granddaughter, Tennille. I wonder... He tapped his chin with one finger. "Yes, yes...brilliant idea, Albus. You amaze even ME sometimes!" he said to himself rather pleasingly. He took out his wand, pointed it northeast and sent a messenger without saying a word. The messenger spell traveled across the sea straight to Denmark where his granddaughter lived...at the moment...

New Quidditch Teammates
Author: Oliver Wood
Date: 01-09-02 05:31

After switching the positions of some of the students and talking with the scouters, Oliver came to a conclusion of who made the teams and who did not.

"Alright! Everyone, get down here!" he shouted. As soon as everyone had landed on the ground, he made his announcement. "Congratulations Samantha, you're the new keeper for Gryffindor!" He smiled at her. The Gryffindor team went wild. "For the Hufflepuff team; Amerah Patterson and Neo Anderson, you two are the new chasers and Prote Spacy the keeper." There was a cheer from the Hufflepuff team and they congratulated their new teammates.

"As for Ravenclaw, Aradia Forest, you will be a chaser! Congratulations everyone! You are now free to do what you please o' course." Oliver grinned.

Saturday the 16th
Author: Pyrrhus
Date: 01-09-02 06:15

That first day of classes, Pyrrhus had outlined the H scheme for Clara and Tempest and was very pleased that both were excited at the prospect of pulling it off. In the two weeks since, the three had met several times in the Slytherin common room to confer and make plans on how to best achieve their aim. They think they are just about ready to set things in motion but as with all schemes, the three know they have to be patient for just the right moment.

Py's other plan was working out quite well. Between Azaelia, Isolde, and himself, they'd managed to keep the charm on Majandra for Phase 2 going a full week and so far they plan on keeping Phase 3 going a week as well. Come Wednesday morning as Majandra's Transfiguration class lets out, Phase 4 will be put into action.

Sitting at breakfast with so many others in the Hall, Pyrrhus has a hard time keeping himself from laughing gleefully as he thinks about what a fool Majandra's been making of herself and how those two twits Lavender and Parvati have unknowingly helped keep the scheme covered up. Those two dimbulbs have announced to anyone who'll listen that Majandra's having serious rebound problems and issues over a break up with that stupid Muggle she dated a long while back. Wonder if they'll use the same excuse when Majandra has a sudden interest in Peeves on Wednesday.

Pyrrhus gulps down the rest of his breakfast, slaps together his hands in anticipation and jumps up. When the person across from him at the table gives him a questioning look, Py quickly covers. "Excited to see which newcomers made the Quidditch teams. Interesting to see who we'll slaughter this year."

The boy grins and nods in agreement even as Pyrrhus hurries out of the Great Hall. Py really does want to watch the Quidditch trials but his excitement is more related to the two schemes than to Quidditch.

After watching the trials and hearing the teams announced, Py returns to the Great Hall, hoping to see his much beloved sister making a complete buffoon of herself. Walking into the Hall, he sees he's not to be disappointed. Py takes a seat and enjoys the show.

Bloody Hell!
Author: Prof. Snape
Date: 01-09-02 08:26

Snape looked away from Lupin. "I have other things to do Remus," he said as he stood up, still glaring.

He walked out of the Great Hall and headed for his office, looking back to see if anyone was following him. He continued to walk through the hall.

Moments later he reached his office door, reached for the handle to open it... 'till he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his left forearm and clutched it.

"Damn it!" he hissed, still holding his arm. Then there was a loud crash and Snape quickly turned around.

Oops!
Author: Neo Anderson
Date: 01-09-02 08:45

Neo happened to trip over his cat Felix right behind Professor Snape. 'Aww man,' he thought.

Snape then walked over and picked Neo up forcefully. "What are you doing here?!" Snape snarled. Neo's eyes widened.

Snape continued to glare at Neo, who picked up Felix (his black cat) and managed to croak, "S-sorry, sir! I was chasing my cat because I didn't want to...um..."

Snape's eyes narrowed, "SPIT IT OUT!!" he hissed. Neo's face turned pale. "Er..." he said. "I...er...um... uh, didn't want her to bother you, sir!" Neo said like a sergeant at war.

"Doubt it!" Snape snapped. Neo then looked from Snape's glare to his left arm. "Uh, Professor Snape?" he asked. Snape stared "What?" he said.

"What's wrong with your arm?" asked Neo...
