Chaos Everywhere
Author: Charlie Weasley
Date: 03-21-02

Before Charlie could make it all the way up to the castle, something instinctive told him that he should return to his room. It had been urgent.

He remembered making arguments with himself over whether to turn back or keep going to see Belladonna. Unfortunately, this urge felt stronger, and he knew there was an emergency. Belladonna would cool off in time. He knew her.

He came back to the small pub below the room he and Bill shared. Bill explained to him that Charlie's boss' head had come through the fireplace and told him that he had to go back to Romania and STAT. Charlie remembered this happening before, when his brothers told him about Fudge's urgent message for their father.

Charlie apparated to Romania. There had been a crisis. A whole other new team had been pulled in to help them. Chaos spread throughout the camp.

"What is it?" Charlie asked, as he rushed up to one of his partners, Stephen Gregor.

Stephen erupted into explanation. A disease had spread. One of the contained baby dragons had escaped and spread the disease, but they had recaptured him. The disease was spreading rapidly, and the other team that had been pulled in had an vaccine to stop the disease. Trouble was, how would they give it to the dragons?

The question Charlie had been pondering escaped. "And how do you propose we give it to the dragons?"

Stephen pulled Charlie into their bosses office-tent, and there stood a lovely, tall, blonde woman. She looked angry, and a bit apprehensive at the same time.

"Charlie Weasley, meet Helena Tufton. She's here with her father, and is the team leader of her group study. I'm putting part of her crew with yours, Charlie. You two will work great together. Seem to have the same passions." His boss introduced them, and Charlie stepped forward to take her hand.

She didn't take it, but nodded. Charlie stepped back, casting a glance on Stephen who shrugged. Their boss broke the silence.

"Both she and her father co-developed this vaccine. Helena will be explaining to you everything about the vaccine and together, you two will be figuring out which areas you should cover first, in turn, you will be doing the same for the second, third and fourth team."

Charlie nodded, as did Helena. Charlie could tell she didn't like him, and he was beginning to feel the same way. This was going to be a rough and wild ride, and he more than wanted to be back at Hogsmeade with Bella.

The Day of the Auditions
Author: Belladonna
Date: 03-21-02 19:15

Belladonna Sinistra walked along the halls of the castle to where the auditions were being held. She wasn't going to audition, but she had offered to help build the scenery and especially help with any painting necessary. The tea had actually gone quite well and she had this weird feeling that she, Adriana, and Sorcha would become good friends. They had giggled and exchanged favorite shopping places.

As she passed, a few students called out and a few students had even commented on her outfit. Okay, she would be working, so a green silk halter and black silk pants had seemed like a good idea, as did pulling back her hair into a ponytail and wearing sandals. Sadly, the pants and top left her navel and navel ring showing and the sandals made wearing an ankle bracelet impossible, so her ankle tattoo showed clearly. If she was lucky, Minerva wouldn't catch her or see the marks of a hidden wild child.

She successfully sneaked behind the stage and waved at Adriana. So much was going on the stage that Bella took a seat in the front row and prepared to watch the auditions with her pad and pencils. A stage concept would soon come and meanwhile, watching the auditions and working on the stage design would take her mind off Charlie. The quarrel was such a mess and she didn't know what to do, except shop and try to take her mind off things. She sighed before opening her pad. Of course, it was nice to be part of the most exciting thing to happen to Hogwarts in ages.

The Tufton Vaccine
Author: Helena Tufton

Helena stood silently listening to Kenneth Shackleton, project leader of Copperton Dragon Keeping, as he made introductions and stressed the severity of the situation currently running rampant in the Romanian wilderness. She stood slightly before her father, Marcus Tufton, a man who despite his age was still very physically fit.

After a few more words, Mr. Shackleton left the tent to deal with other matters, leaving Helena and her father with their new teammembers. Immediately getting to work, Helena rolled out a map of the area across the table and leaned over it. Her father did the same, holding one of the corners down with his right hand.

Charlie and Stephen looked at each other curiously before taking a few steps closer to the table to get a better look at the map.

Helena looked up momentarily and said, "Mr. Gregor, Mr. Westley–"

"Weasley," Charlie interrupted. "It's Weasley, but please call me Charlie. Helena, right?"

Helena answered curtly, "Tufton. And this is my father, Mr. Marcus Tufton."

"How do you do?" He held out his hand and gave a firm shake to both boys.

After the introductions, the four got back to work. They studied the map, coloured differently to show which areas had been infected by the disease, and which areas were still very susceptible to getting it. Then, Helena got to the explanation of how the vaccine works and what it's comprised of.

"All of the ingredients in the Tufton vaccine are organic–roots, bark, grasses, flowers, and even various creatures contributed to the serum. Most of the materials are easy to find, but the key to creating a successful vaccine is just how much of each ingredient you use. I have a parchment for each of you with the instructions for creating the Tufton vaccine. It's important that we get it right. One false calculation, and not only is the serum a failure, but it could also cause more harm than good to the dragons." Handing out the parchments, she paused for a moment to take a breath and to collect her thoughts.

Charlie took the opportunity to pipe in, "This is all very fascinating, but how exactly are we going to vaccinate the dragons?"

Care of Magical Creatures Class
Author: Hermione Granger
Date: 03-21-02

Earlier that morning, Hermione had written a letter to Viktor. It read:

Dear Viktor,
Thank you for your letter and I am pleased to inform you that Gryffindor did indeed win the Quidditch match. The cake you provided for the house was very well received. Thank you for thinking of us!

I am sorry that I haven't written to you recently. Things have been hectic here at school, to say the least. Just know that I am not angry with you, Viktor. I hope you are well and I look forward to hearing from you again soon!

Your friend,
Hermione

She had brought the letter to the Owlery after reading it over several times. Hedwig was pleased to send off the letter, and Hermione was pretty sure that Harry wouldn't mind if she used his owl.

Hermione and Ron had hardly spoken at the Gryffindor party on Saturday afternoon. He was obviously angry at her for having some kind of secret relationship with Viktor or something. Hermione just didn't understand it. Ron knew that she loved him and only him. Viktor was a past fling...not even that, really. She and Viktor were just good friends, that's all. So what if he wrote her letters. Ron could just get over it already.

The next day had been a bit better. Ron and Hermione had reviewed their Shakespeare textbooks together, looking for any possible audition material. They even held hands as they sat together on the couch in the common room.

When Monday morning rolled around, Hermione decided not to tell Ron that she had written a reply to Viktor's letter. Ron seemed to have cooled off and forgotten about him. She would hate for him to get upset again.

At three o'clock the auditions for A Midsummer Night's Dream would begin. Harry, Hermione, and Ron would have to show up at four, after Care of Magical Creatures. The three walked down to Hagrid's Hut, running Shakespearean lines through their heads as they went in silence. It was cold, drizzly, and foggy. Certainly the perfect day to stay inside curled up before the fireplace.

Hermione turned and smiled at Ron, giving his hand an affectionate squeeze. He seemed to be reading her mind. He smiled and ran his thumb back and forth across her hand.

When they got to the hut, they noticed that Hagrid's flying pigs were zipping around with cute little wing covers on. Hagrid seemed proud of his outfitted pigs and gave a slight smiled to Majandra, who was smiling back dreamily.

"Hagrid, it's bloody cold out here. Why don't you let us inside your hut, or better yet, cancel class!" Draco grinned and winked at Clara and Tempest.

Hagrid looked towards the inside of his hut, debating whether or not all the students could fit inside his place. His classes this term were unusually large, would there be enough ale to go around?

"Well? What'll it be, Hagrid?" Pyrrhus asked impatiently, wrapping an arm around Isolde's shoulders. Robert grinned and did the same to Azaelia.

Hermione frowned. She certainly hoped class wouldn't be canceled. Hagrid's lessons on flying pigs had been most interesting. And besides, whatever Hagrid was cooking smelled mighty good.

To Volunteer or Not to Volunteer
Author: Bronwyn Dewhurst

"Class dismissed!" Professor Sprout said, shooing away her students. It was three in the afternoon on a chilly and wet Monday. Bronwyn and Kendra made their way indoors in a hurry, for not only couldn't they wait to get warm and dry but also, they were going to head in to audition for A Midsummer Night's Dream.

All weekend after the spectacular Quidditch match, Bronwyn had immersed herself in the complete volume of Shakespeare, which was required for her Muggle Studies class. Sometime yesterday, she had finally picked out which lines she would read for her audition. She had enlisted Toby to help, since he was also going to be auditioning.

"Your brother is so lucky, Kendra," Bronwyn said, wringing out her hair as they entered the castle. "Since he didn't have any classes today, he's probably been rehearsing his lines all day."

Kendra rolled her eyes and shoved open the door to the Muggle Studies classroom. The room was pretty packed, though not all of Prof. Fairchild's students were there, because some of them had three o'clock classes and would be auditioning later in the afternoon. Bronwyn and Kendra found Toby sitting next to Ginny Weasley, who looked pretty nervous about her audition.

"You sure did get here fast, Ginny," Bronwyn said, smiling. The three of them had Herbology class together.

Ginny smiled weakly and answered, "I'm just eager to get this over with!"

Toby placed a hand on her shoulder and squeezed it reassuringly. "You'll do fine, Ginny. Maybe you and Harry will have a kissing scene or something!" He winked at Bronwyn and flashed a sexy grin.

Ginny blushed.

"Ok, it's three o'clock and we're ready to start the auditions. Who wants to go first?" Prof. Fairchild stood in the front of the room and waited for a volunteer.

Enough!
Author: George Weasley

Back in the Common room, George looked at his watch and sighed, looking over at Sammi and Fred who were sitting directly across from each other at a table, studying, holding hands and making goo-goo eyes at each other.

"For the last time! If you two don't get your bloody hands off each other and get ready to go down to that audition, I'm leaving without you!!" George bellowed, throwing his hands in the air.

Neither of them looked back at him as he yelled.

"Fine! I'm going without you!" He got up and started to head towards the back of the portrait.

Fred sighed. "Bloody 'ell, George. Hold up a minute!"

"A minute? A minute! I held up a whole TEN minutes, and you two STILL didn't budge! Let's go!" George grumbled to himself as the portrait flung open and he made his way down the stairs. Fred and Sammi followed, though they lagged a bit, holding hands, and leaning their heads together. George rolled his eyes, still mumbling under his breath.

---

Once they arrived to where everyone was waiting to audition. George waved to Kendra and Bronwyn who were standing by Ginny and Toby Beck. He walked over.

"Hey, you guys! Ya ready?" He asked, grinning. Everyone knew that George and Fred were spotlight stealers. They didn't mean to, they just were good at being the center of attention.

George looked at Ginny, who looked at him briefly then looked down. He lifted her chin, then scuffed it, playfully, with his fist. "Don't worry about it, Ladybug! You'll do fine!"

He grinned, and so did she.

To the Audition
Author: Nessiah Wenton

Nessiah hurried over to where the audition was taking place. She wasn't quite sure why it had taken her so long to get over there, she had no classes. She wasn't even auditioning.

The sixth year Hufflepuff had thought about auditioning, but then decided she would just work backstage. When she got there, she smiled at all the people who were going to audition. She believed that this was a very good idea.

After a few more glances around, Nessiah went to find Miss Fairchild.

Making an Appearance
Author: Prof. Sorcha
Date: 04-10-02 23:10

Sorcha walked to the Muggle Studies class where the auditions were being held. Since there was nothing for her to do, Sorcha went in. She saw Belladonna sitting in the room. It looked like she was half-asleep.

Sorcha remembered the late night tea in Belladonna's room. She had almost been yelled at by Ailsa for being out so late. It was curtailed with a reminder that Ailsa was not Sorcha's mother.

Belladonna seemed nice. She was the closest thing Sorcha had to a friend, since Sammi had stopped talking after getting together with Fred. Sorcha liked Belladonna and thought that a friendship was in the making.

Sorcha walked over to Belladonna and sat down next to her. Belladonna was sleeping by then and didn't notice.

"Hey, wake up," Sorcha said as she pushed lightly on Belladonna's shoulder. It had the desired effect, and Belladonna woke up.

Up...I think

Bella Sinistra, Professor of Astronomy, blinked her dark blue eyes a few times before muttering sleepily that it had to be at least three in the afternoon. She fumbled for a thermos that held a rather strong coffee with a little afternoon pick-me up for times when her body clock said she should be asleep.

Bella smiled as she handed Sorcha a cup of coffee. It was nice to have someone to talk to. They needed to have tea again, especially if Adriana was free. She sipped her coffee while she tilted the stage drawing towards Sorcha for an opinion.

"Gosh, this is exciting. I'm so excited to watch these auditions. Actually got out of bed in the afternoon and you know how little that happens. I'm always as nocturnal as Luna, although never as grumpy. It's beyond me why people choose the day to be so busy, especially a day like this. Horrid weather outside... How did your classes go?"

Auditioning Woes
Author: Adriana Fairchild
Date: 04-11-02 00:18

"Ok, it's three o'clock and we're ready to start the auditions. Who wants to go first?"

Adriana looked around at the room packed full of students. Nobody budged.

"Well, if no one is anxious to volunteer, I'd like to go ahead and say a few words." Adriana cleared her throat.

"William Shakespeare is, as I've already told you many times in class, the greatest dramatist the theatre as ever known. It is my hope that by participating in this experience your appreciation for Muggle literature and art will be greatly enhanced and continue to grow even further."

She paused and looked at her students, who were all surprisingly silent. And then it occurred to her.

"There's no reason to be nervous." Adriana smiled warmly. "You'll all do very well, I'm sure of it. And if you don't, well then, I promise not to turn you to stone."

A few of her students laughed at her little joke, but not many. Rolling her eyes, Adriana sat on her desk. "Chill out, guys, really! I love you all. You're going to live through this, I promise!"

Picking up a clipboard from off of her desk, Adriana whipped out a pencil she was using as a makeshift hair tie and began to write.

"Now Lee, where's Lee?" She asked without even looking up.

Lee Jordan stepped into the middle of the room. "Right here, Miss Fairchild."

"Wonderful! Lee is going to be my assistant director. So when I'm not around, he's the boss." At this Lee couldn't help but grin. "And," Adriana continued, "since all of you look like you're on the way to a funeral, I'm going to do things a bit differently. I'll see you in groups of three. So find two other people you're comfortable with and go wait in the hallway. Lee will call in the groups one at a time. How's that?"

There seemed to be a unanimous sigh of relief, and excited chatter erupted as the students began to form their groups. Adriana looked around for her first 'victims', disappointed that Hermione, Ron, and Harry had not yet arrived. Hmm, she thought. So who's going to go first?

But before she could finish searching, a student tapped her arm. It was Nessiah.

"Nessiah! I got your message this morning. It's perfectly fine if you want to work backstage, and I was actually wondering if you would be interested in designing the costumes."

The sixth year Hufflepuff smiled, but didn't answer immediately. "Well–"

"You don't have to let me know right now. Just think about it and get back to me in class." Adriana flashed her a smile but then turned away quickly, returning to the immediate task at hand. "Bronwyn Dewhurst!"

Bronwyn was standing with her usual side-kick Kendra and Ginny Weasley. Surprised by hearing her name, she turned around slowly. "Yes, Professor?"

"You're one of my more eager students," grinned Adriana. "Your group will go first."

Romeo and Juliet - Bronwyn Dewhurst Style
Author: Bronwyn Dewhurst
Date: 04-11-02 09:44

The initial shock of being the first to go wore off quickly. Bronwyn took a deep breath and stepped to the front of the room.

Kendra and Ginny remained in their seats, faces pale and hands clasped tightly in their laps. Before leaving the room, Toby gave Bronwyn a wink. She grinned back and once the room was silent, began her audition.

"I'm going to do a scene from Romeo and Juliet," she announced cheerfully.

Clearing her throat, she clasped her hands together and placed them near her heart.

"Oh, Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
"

She unclasped her hands and held them out before her and continued speaking in a softer tone.

"Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,"

Her hands returned to her heart.

"And I'll no longer be a Capulet."

From out in the hallway, the voice of Toby bellowed through the closed door, "Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?"

Ginny and the professors erupted into giggles while Kendra gasped and buried her head in her hands. Bronwyn's game face never faltered. She continued:

"'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? Is it nor hand, nor foot,
"

At this point, Bronwyn began pointing to the various parts of her anatomy of which she was speaking.

"Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
"

She paused for a moment, and then smiled at Professor Fairchild. "I'll stop there, if that's fine with you."

"It certainly is fine. Thank you, Bronwyn," she answered, glancing over to the other two girls. "Kendra, why don't you go next."

Australia just smiled.
