Hopeless Me
Author: Sykra Sawyer
Date: 01-12-02 20:37

Sykra ran to catch up Cho and Aradia. "Sorry I took so long, had trouble finding my money...And I figured it would be useful..." She grinned.

"Oh Sykra! I swear you're completely hopeless!" Cho rolled her eyes. "I swear you misplace things more than you trip!" She smiled as Aradia giggled.

"You mean to tell me there's something she does more that trip?"

"Yup."

"That's kinda sad..."

"Ain't it though?"

"Ok you two, you do know I'm standing right here?" Sykra narrowed her eyes at them.

"Yea."

"'Course."

Sykra shook her head. "Then try to lay off of the talking 'bout me...you're supposed to do that when I'm not around. How else do you expect things to get started? Jeeze. You two have got a lot to learn. Now I'm going to go to Hogsmeade." She started off and her two friends, who now were staring at her funny, followed.

On to Hogsmeade
Author: Clara Devaki
Date: 01-12-02 20:43

Clara collapsed on the ground underneath one of the trees outside Hogwarts. "Oh I'm so glad it's the weekend." She closed her eyes and leaned up against the tree.

"Oh come on Clara!" Tempest rolled her eyes and pulled Clara to her feet. "We've gotta get going. It's a Hogsmeade weekend remember?"

"Oh yeah!" The two Slytherins raced towards their common room. Once they got there they grabbed their money from their trunks and headed back outside.

As they made their way for Hogsmeade, the girls discussed Pyrrhus' plan to get Hermione. "I think it's a great plan!" Tempest was laughing. "That Mudblood's got it coming!"

"I know!" Clara had an evil look in her eyes and a devilish grin on her face. "This will be sooo much fu-oh!' Clara smacked into a boy who had been standing on the path. "What in bloody 'ell do ya think ya doin' blockin' the road like that?"

"What's it matter?" The boy turned around. "You should've been watching where you were goin'!' He picked himself up off the ground with a sneer on his face.

"Draco!" Clara's glare turned into horror then back into a glare. "Even if I had been watchin', you still would have been blocking the road!" Tempest stared at Clara in shock.

"That does't matter. At least if you would've been watchin' I wouldn't have ended up on the ground!"

"Oh well I'm sorry 'bout that but you shouldn't block the road!"

"Ok, ok you two! Enough!" Tempest pushed in between them. "Clara you should've been watching and Draco you shouldn't have been blocking the road. See? All settled! Now may we please get to Hogsmeade? I want some butterbeer." She looked at the two.

"Fine."

"Yeah sure."

"Good." Tempest grabbed Clara as Malfoy and his friends started towards Hogsmeade, and whispered to her. "Are you feeling okay?"

"Feeling fine. Why?"

"I've never heard you talk to him like that before."

"Your point?"

"Well...Oh, nevermind. But why were you like that with him just now?"

"Oh it's jus-"

"You girls coming?" Malfoy had turned around and was now staring at them.

"Oh um..." Clara started.

"Yes we are!" Tempest grabbed Clara and pulled her two their fellow Slytherins and they headed for Hogsmeade.

First Hogsmeade Trip of the Term
Author: Hermione Granger
Date: 01-13-02 02:25

Hermione, Ron, and Harry strolled down the streets of Hogsmeade, looking here and there at the various shops and people. As they walked, Hermione could do nothing but think about how wonderful her birthday had been. She had gotten books from Bronwyn, Harry, and Sykra, finely carved bookends from Majandra, a chocolate cake from Neo, butterbeer from Prote, lovely cards from both Hannah and Amerah, and plenty of well wishes from other friends and teachers. She glanced down at her wrist to see Viktor's present shimmering on her arm. It truly was sweet and thoughtful of him, but Ron's gift...that just blew Viktor's right out of the water.

Who knew that Ron Weasley could be that sweet? Who knew that he had the thoughtfulness to create something so beautiful...a true gift of friendship created with the love of a friend. Hermione had spent the next few days repeatedly going through the photo album, sighing as she remembered the moments that were captured, which Ron had so delicately placed in his homemade album with care. Ron hadn't been able to wipe that smile of his face for days now. He was still beaming now, as the trio made their way to a new shop.

"Want to give this one a try?" Harry asked, gazing up at the striped awning.

Ron shrugged, turning to Hermione. His smile never wavered as he spoke, "What do you think?"

"I say we give it a try, but I want to visit the Three Broomsticks later," she answered, smiling back at Ron.

"Well then, let's go on inside," Harry said, leading the way.

Dierna is walking around Hogsmeade, highly frustrated. She hasn't been assigned anything since her argument with the Minister of Magic. And still no word from Dumbledore. Dierna hates sitting idly by, especially at times like this.

So Dierna heads to the new bakery hoping to ear off her restlessness. So on her way she passes something that makes her do a double take and then she traveled back in time, though without a timespinner, that is not possible. So she started for a brief moment and comments, partly to herself, "Well, well, the SPITTING image of his father . . . but with Lily's eyes!"

Grand Opening
Author: Briar Rose
Date: 01-13-02 18:57

Briar has two temporary employees going all over Hogsmeade passing out flyers with coupons for her bakery. The flyers advertise complimentary pumpkin juice, both chilled and warmly spiced, complimentary milk as well as coffee and tea plus butterbeer from The Three Broomsticks will be available for half price to anyone buying a baked good. One per baked good of course.

Briar had patted herself on the back for the butterbeer coup. She'd convinced Madame Rosmerta that allowing Briar to sell the The Three Broomsticks butterbeer at half price during the bakery's grand opening would be good business for Madame Rosmerta. The woman had seem reluctant at first but somehow Briar had won her over.

It all seems to be paying off now. Every seat in the bakery taken inside and the outside tables are full as well. A steady stream of customers, many of them Hogwarts students, is keeping Briar and her workers on their toes.

It's a good day indeed!

A Figure in the Dark
Author: Fred Weasley
Date: 01-14-02 06:26

Fred held open the door to The Three Broomsticks and ushered Samantha and George inside. They immediately found a little table in the center of the room and made themselves comfortable around it, finding Madame Rosmerta handing them each a pint of butterbeer.

"The Weasley twins are back, I see," she said, grinning ever-so-slightly. As her eyes laid on Samantha she huffed, "And who is this lady, may I ask?"

Fred took the opportunity to introduce Samantha and said, "This lovely lady is Samantha Thatcher. She's new at 'Ogwarts."

Madam Rosmerta shrugged and leaned across the table. "If you were in your right mind, you'd steer clear of these two. They're nothin' but trouble!" With that, she winked at the boys and left to deal with some other customers.

"Nothin' but trouble, eh?" Samantha grinned, elbowing Fred.

Fred shrugged and put his hands behind his head. "You think you can handle it, Sammi?"

"I think I can, Fred. I'd give you a run for your money."

"Is that roight?" Fred put his hands back on the table and leaned in close.

"You betcha," she responded, never losing his stare.

George cleared his throat and pointed across the room to a darkened corner. "You see that man there?"

Fred and Samantha turned to stare in the general direction.

"No, no!" George hissed, lowering his voice. "Don't look!"

Fred and Samantha arched eyebrows at each other before turning back to George.

"There's a man over there," George began, stealing glances at the figure as he spoke. "'E keeps looking this way."

Fred and Samantha looked at each other again, trying not to turn and stare in the darkened corner.

Where to Go First
Author: Aradia Forest
Date: 01-14-02 06:40

After a prolonged wait for our ever-tripping and absent-minded friend, we, Cho, Sykra and I finally arrive at Hogsmeade. I look around. There are all sorts of cool places to visit, though in a very different way than Diagon Alley. I look everywhere and ask, "So, my friends. Where do we go first?"

Butterbeer...Yummy!
Author: Sykra Sawyer
Date: 01-14-02 07:20

"So my friends...Where do we go first?" Aradia asked.

"Three Broomsticks!" Sykra grinned. "I want some nice warm butterbeer!"

Cho laughed. "I second that motion!"

"Three Broomsticks it is!" The three Ravenclaws went into The Three Broomsticks, grabbed a table in the corner and ordered some Butterbeer.

"So...How was your first week, Aradia?" Cho asked as Sykra gulped down her first glass of butterbeer.

A Little Plan
Author: Clara Devaki
Date: 01-14-02 07:51

The small Slytherin gang reached Hogwarts. "Well Clara and I are off to The Three Broomsticks for a drink! See you guys later, aight?" Tempest started to drag Clara away.

"Oh...Well that's where were heading..." Malfoy said. He motioned for his friends to follow.

Tempest almost screamed. "Well...then...let's go!" They went into The Three Broomsticks, and grabbed a large table in the far corner and ordered their drinks.

Clara took a sip of her butterbeer, before spitting it out. "Look!" She hissed and elbowed Tempest. "It's that bloody mudblood! And her two lil friends."

"Ak!" Tempest almost knocked over her drink then turned to Clara. "I don't think there are any teachers here at the moment..." Their fellow Slytherins were staring at them.

Clara smiled evilly. "Shall we?"

"Oh yes we shall."

"What are you two talking about?" The girls turned and looked at Malfoy.

"Sykra Sawyer..."

"Cho Chang."

"And Aradia Forest!" They finished together and gave an evil laugh.

"We've got a plan..."

"Our brains kind of work as one..."

"Wanna help?"

"Sure!" the male Slytherins replied.

"Okay listen..." Clara and Tempest looked around then leaned forward and told their friends their plan.

The Object of her Affection
Author: Majandra
Date: 01-15-02 00:12

Majandra sits slumped at a table inside Briar's Bakery, picking at the slice of cake in front of her and wishing she were back at the school. She had no plans to come to Hogsmeade but some of her Gryffindor and Ravenclaw friends had insisted to the point of practically dragging Majandra down to the town.

Normally, her friends would have respected Majandra's wishes and left her be. That was before Majandra began having one strange crush after another. The objects of her crushes were odd enough choices but her absurd, silly behavior with each was beyond comprehension. All were beginning to doubt Lavender's explanation and few had ever really believed that last year Lavender had foreseen weird things in store for Majandra.

When Majandra's attention to Filch waned, she had seemed really down in the dumps over her continuous, unexplainable behavior. Her friends hoped that the upcoming day at Hogsmeade would help bring Majandra out of her blue mood. To their chagrin, next thing they knew Majandra was in the throes of the strangest crush yet. Everyone at the school, or almost everyone that is, was shocked when Majandra began flirting with Peeves, or as she'd taking to calling him, Peevesie Poo. Majandra's friends had decided that come hell or high water they were getting her to Hogwarts for a much needed break from the school environment.

By the time Saturday morning dawned, Majandra's friends were sick to death of the latest antics and were sure they'd have to listen to yet another lecture on how misunderstood and unloved Peeves was, that all he needed was to know people truly cared about him. One boy was sure his eyesight would never be the same after seeing the day-glow orange and bright, lime green striped vest Majandra had knitted the poltergeist. He and everyone else were quite positive their stomachs would never recover from hearing Majandra coo lovey dovey words of praise over the great pest. When Saturday had rolled around, they knew they'd have to grin (tinged with the green of nausea) and bear it in an effort to help Majandra get over this newest obsession.

Those now sitting with Majandra are questioning their own mental states and are making silent bets as to who will be the first to hurl from hearing more of Majandra's sickeningly sweet cooing over her Peevesie Poo. One of them looks up and sees Lavender waving at the window. Thinking quickly she says, "Oh, look, Lavender wants you, Majandra."

Majandra excuses herself to join Lavender and those at the table sigh with relief and for the first time since sitting down, heartily dig into the bakery's tasty goods. Majandra pushes through a new wave of people surging through the bakery doors then looks around for Lavender. Shrugging to herself when she can't spot her friend, Majandra decides to go back to the school and spend time with her new *deep, love struck sigh* beau. But first, she's got a present to buy for her Peevesie Poo.

Supply Run
Author: Jet
Date: 01-15-02 03:25

Jet stands in the middle of High Street looking at the chicken scratch written on a scrap of parchment. His brow furrows as he tries to figure out what he's written. He runs fingers through his hair as he mumbles to himself.

"Bloody hell! Can't even read my own writing. No wonder the teachers are always complaining."

With an exasperated shrug, Jet shoves the parchment into a pocket. He's fairly sure he can remember what was on the list without giving himself a headache trying to read the blasted thing.

Before Jet does anything else in Hogsmeade today he's determined to buy some items he thinks will be useful when Alanis, Hannah and he return to explore the staircase in that cave. He steps into the first shop, hoping that by the time he's done, he'll still have money left for cake from that new bakery and butterbeer with friends at The Three Broomsticks.

Emerging from the Shadows
Author: Bill Weasley
Date: 01-15-02 03:27

The figure in the shadows sat staring towards the center of the room, watching three students as they sipped their butterbeer. Those three students seemed quite aware that they were being watched, and kept looking over their shoulders at the watcher. He had been spotted and thus decided to reveal himself...

Bill grinned and stood, gliding across the room in a few simple steps.

"Hello little brothers," he said, pulling a chair from a neighbouring table over to where the twins sat.

George laughed, "Bill, you gave us a roight scare. Thought you were You Know Who or someone."

Bill's smile turned into a slight frown, but he shook it away as he turned to Samantha.

"I see you two were quick to pick up the lass from Diagon Alley," he said, remembering the collision between Fred and Samantha. Fred beamed, "This is Sammi. Sammi, this is me brother Bill."

"Hiya Bill!" Samantha said.

"So which one of me brothers have you picked out?" he asked knowing full well who the lucky man was.

"Bill!" Fred exclaimed, blushing furiously.

George chuckled and turned to his older brother, "Wot brings you to town...to the country for that matter, Bill?"

A crease formed in his smooth forehead as he answered his brother's question, hardly above a whisper. "Dark times, George. With the coming rise of You Know Who, I feel that I could help with the work being done to stop him. You really shouldn't know that, though, for your own safety, I mean. Don't you three be spreading this around, you hear?" Bill demanded, looking each one in the eye.

"Aye, we understand," Fred said, nodding.

Bill sighed, looking around suspiciously. The pub was filling up quickly, mostly with Hogwarts students, but there were a few others around. He took a sip of his butterbeer before continuing, "If anyone asks, I'm on an extended vacation."

He looked over to Samantha, unsure of whether he should have informed her of his plans. Fred's good judgment should be good enough for him, but with the coming darkness, one can never be too sure of anything. Could she be trusted?

Majandra hurries back to the school, a bag clutched tightly in one hand. Once back inside the castle, she starts searching in Peevesie Poo's usual hangouts. She calls out as she goes and keeps rattling the bag.

"Oh, Peevesie Poo, where are you? I brought you a gift from Zonko's Joke Shop."

Dierna?!
Author: Remus Lupin
Date: 01-15-02 06:42

I decide to take today to just relax and think about the year at hand. I walk into The Three Broomsticks. Suddenly I hear a woman about my age say, "Remus?!"

I turn around, and it is no other than...Dierna ní Cíaran, Lily Potter's best friend and also a good friend of mine. I haven't seen her in ages, since before the Potters died. Then another feeling comes to me. She is an auror. . .does she know what really happened the day the Potters died? Does she know that Pettigrew betrayed them and not Sirius. "Well, hello Dierna," I say, smiling and sitting beside her. "Long time no see."

"Yes," she says. "We have much to talk about."

"Yes we do," I reply and at that I sit down and tell her everything that I have been doing the past years, about teaching at Hogwarts, and about what REALLY happened when the Potters were killed. . .
