I stood outside green house number three and waited for the 4th year students from Ravenclaw and Slytherin to come for the Finals as they arrived I looked at them and they were looking nervous. I smiled and greeted them we then entered the green house and each took a seat. Taking roll I looked at each one and then stood up.

"All right, this is your final exam. You will go over the Herbology Section. I hope you do your best, for this part we are to go over what you have learned about the plants here and what their primary functions are you have one hour to do this exam if you have completed the exam within the time period raise your hand and I will collect you test supplies. There will be no talking during this exam even if you are finished If I do catch you talking I will take points from your house also you are equipped with the standard anti-cheating quills that are used for all tests. Are you ready, then begin."

Finally Finals
Author: Bronwyn Dewhurst
Date: 10-02-02 15:51

Finally, finals were here. Bronwyn had been anticipating this day for what seemed like forever. Two days of terrible tests and then super summer vacation! She and Kendra had studied hard and were certain to do well. They deserved a nice, 3-month long break, too!

At 8 AM on Monday morning, both girls found themselves seated in Professor Binns' classroom with a History of Magic final exam on their desks. As soon as the bell sounded, both girls picked up their quills and set to work. Although it was easy to forget names, places, and dates, Bronwyn was simply flying through the exam. None of the material would be forgotten until promptly after she would hand in the test, that was for certain!

After History of Magic, the girls would have their Care of Magical Creatures exam, and knowing Hagrid, it might actually be loads of fun. After lunch, the girls would find themselves taking their Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms finals. That would do it for the day, but tomorrow there would be another round of exams to get through.

Final Woes
Author: Isolde
Date: 10-02-02 16:30

Isolde cast glances at Pyrrhus, Azaelia, and Alexis, who were all sitting nearby scribbling away furiously on their Herbology exams. The sun was pounding on the side of the greenhouse, making the interior incredibly warm. The blonde-haired Slytherin found it terribly distracting.

Nevertheless, Isolde attempted to focus on her exam. She was very-well prepared, but always became nervous when it was time to take a test. Concentrate, Isolde! She mentally scolded herself for letting her mind continually wander when it should be centered on the task at hand.

She picked up her quill and started to write.

As she worked, she tried not to worry about the other exams she'd be taking that day: Astronomy at nine o'clock, Potions at one o'clock, and Charms at two o'clock. Tomorrow would be even more busy and angst-ridden with History of Magic bright and early at eight in the morning, Care of Magical Creatures at nine, and a three-hour block after lunch of Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, and lastly, Divination.

Isolde silently hoped these two days of test-taking would come and go so that the summer holidays could finally get there.

A Request for Books
Author: Hermione Granger
Date: 10-03-02 18:44

The Gryffindor common room seemed more crowded than usual because most of the fifth and seventh years were congregating there, since they had no where else to go. Per Dumbledore's regulations, no one was to leave the safety of the common rooms due to the recent abductions in Hogsmeade. Only the students who had final exams today were free to come and go, but even they were being monitored closely.

Several times that day, Hermione had found herself escorting straggling test-takers to their classrooms. She was grateful for those few minutes of freedom, but at the same time she felt awful. Harry was still missing and as each day went by without word from him, it seemed like the chances of him coming back alive were becoming all the more slimmer.

Those thoughts aside, Hermione was also very bored. She needed something to keep her mind off of Harry and something to keep her from dying of boredom. Ron had already beaten her at wizard's chess three times that morning and was looking to make it four straight wins.

Instead, Hermione opted to order some books from the Hogsmeade public library. She got a piece of parchment and a quill, and began to scribble a note to Miss Sanjarya.

Dear Miss Sanjarya,

I would like to borrow some books from your library, but I do not have any particular ones in mind. What do you suggest? Although I haven't mentioned this to you before, I just want to let you know that I'm very pleased that you have opened up the library in Hogsmeade. You have no idea how excited you have made me! I look forward to visiting your library again sometime.

Yours Truly,
Hermione Granger

Dreading Potions
Author: Pyrrhus
Date: 10-04-02 17:38

Pyrrhus and Isolde sat side by side against the common room wall, quizzing each other for their upcoming Potions final. With many of the fifth and seventh years hanging around the room today, few others have much chance of snagging a decent place to sit. After returning to Slytherin House earlier, Isolde and Py had grabbed the pillows from their beds and then found the spot against the wall. They'd invited Lia and Alexis to study with them but the other two had declined but promised to meet up with them to go to lunch together.

Thinking of lunch made Py's stomach rumble and if on cue Azaelia and Alexis put in an appearance in the common room. Isolde and Py run their pillows back to their rooms then the four join in with a large group being led by Draco and a couple of other Slytherin prefects.

Lunch was over way too soon as far as Pyrrhus was concerned. Sure, Professor Snape favors his Slytherin students but that won't make his Potions final any easier. Hand in hand, Isolde and Py walk with the other fourth year Slytherins and many of the Gryffindors as well, down to the dungeon for what could be the hardest final exam of all.

Transfiguration Finals
Author: Minerva McGonagall
Date: 10-04-02 20:58

Minverva left the Great Hall early from lunch to head back to the classroom and get check over the exams for the third year Slytherin and Hufflepuff students. Everything seemed in order, and within moments, the door to the classroom opened and they third years filed into the room, taking their seats.

She picked up the stack of exams and began handing them out, having the students pass them down.

"You know the rules. I want no talking, if you have some type of question you will come up and ask me, not your neighbor. When you are finished, bring your exam up to me and leave silently. Thank you. You may begin when you are ready." Minerva instructed and went back to her desk.

The morning exams had gone very smoothly, now if just the rest of them would go as smooth, she would be a happy old witch.

Astronomy Afternoon
Author: Belladonna
Date: 10-04-02 23:35

"Yeah, I know, there's some weird bright thing in the sky and we're indoors. Not only that, but I'm making you sit at desks and there's no food or drinks. Yes, this test is horrible already. You have a full hour, but you should only need half the time. C'mon, this is an easy test and if you need to cheat, well you're in trouble anyway. Okay, begin, have fun, and I accept bribes in the form of....ask a seventh year or one of your older siblings."

Bella sighed as she pushed hair out of her eyes and looked at her students through dark glasses. Her Pepper Up potion wasn't working at all and right now, she just wanted to be asleep in her comfy bed with the apricot satin sheet dreaming happy dreams of summer and unicorns. Okay, if she was honest with herself, most of her students wanted to be asleep, dreaming of summer.

Well, finish the afternoon, go back to bed, and then sleep until tomorrow morning. She thought about owling John for dinner plans, but decided against it. Poor man must be so behind in his Ministry work. They were both busy right now, so it would do them both good to take a break from each other. One couldn't always be romantic and snuggle. Nope, she had no intentions of seeing him before the end of term feast.

Course, that was an okay thing. For now, finish the exams, pour more potions, and sleep. She checked her watch and sighed again. Time crept along. Gosh, it was like she was a student again. Bloody exams.

Gryffindor and Hufflepuff
Author: Angelina
Date: 10-05-02 03:36

After the first group had left I waited for the Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs to arrive.

I saw as they approached that the Gryffindors were sad for their friend and fellow Gryffindor Harry Potter had been missing for quite sometime.

The Hufflepuffs seemed to miss Harry as well for even though they won the Quidditch cup they knew Harry and the other Gryffindor team members gave them a run for their Knuts.

There were whispers as they approached and I managed a small smile in hopes to lift their spirits. "Greenhouse three for the tests." I said and lead them in.

As I let them in and they took their seats my arm began to tingle rubbing it I hoped the sensation would go away but it didn't it grew stronger. "Odd," I thought and went to my work bench. "The last time that happened was when..." I shook the thought from my mind and concentrated on the class.

Almost Graduates
Author: Fred Weasley
Date: 10-05-02 12:05

"Oy, George!" Fred bellowed, immediately getting shushed by dozens of younger Gryffindors who were trying to do some last minute cramming for their final exams. Only slightly apologetic for the loud and sudden outburst, Fred lowered his voice a little and continued, "I'm bored out of my mind!"

George grabbed Fred by the elbow and led him to a corner of the common room. The two boys put their backs up against the wall and slid down to the floor. "This is no good, Fred. We're trapped in this common room like animals. I'm going stir crazy, and I could really use some fresh air and some sunshine."

Nodding in agreement, Fred sighed and said, "And it's not like we can throw a big party in our common room because some people still need to take some exams. Can you believe we've done it, George? We're officially finished with our wizarding education."

"Not just yet, Fred. We haven't gotten our test scores. It'll be a few weeks before we find out if we've passed the NEWTs or not." George blinked and the corners of his lips twitched up into a sly smile. "Better hope we pass, or mum's gonna give us hell!"

Fred chuckled rather loudly, and subsequently was on the receiving end of another dozen glares.

Realizations
Author: Bill Weasley
Date: 10-05-02 12:45

Bill was very disappointed with the events that transpired the day before yesterday at the bakery. All of a sudden, the secrets he had been harboring for Adriana and Briar seemed to consolidate with one another leaving Bill all the more confused, shocked, and worried.

Briar had revealed to him that Adriana knew about her past. For many months now, Bill and treated both women's secrets, although in some aspects very alike, as different entities. After the day before yesterday, everything was different.

Bill hadn't told Adriana about Briar's secret. He had promised both women that he wouldn't tell anybody what they had confided in him, and he kept that promise. It had never dawned on him before that Adriana and Briar could have known each other when they were younger–that Adriana's mother and Briar's biological parents had certainly been more than just acquaintances, since they all were in Voldemort's inner circle.

How strange it was now to realize that little Adriana and young Rosalyn were probably childhood friends...and then, another thought struck Bill's mind. The two women he deeply adored were most certainly also the childhood friends of the Stratfords and Julian Valentine. The thought alone made Bill uneasy.

He could never understand why Briar wanted to date Julian, and as much as Bill didn't want to believe it, now more than ever he was beginning to think that he was losing her to them...to their kind...he had promised her he'd protect her, but was that what she really wanted?

"You're thinking too much, Bill," he muttered to himself, massaging his temples.

There was one way to get as close to the bottom of the matter as possible. He needed to speak with Adriana and find out just what she knows.

Watling's Wizarding Academy
Author: Blossom
Date: 10-05-02 20:44

Too nervous to sleep any longer, Blossom dresses quietly and tiptoes out of the room she shares with three other Falcon House girls. She exits Falcon House thinking to have a very early breakfast but when the thought of food makes her feel queasy, Blossom changes direction and goes instead to the Great Common.

After curling up in a large, overstuffed chair, Blossom begins going over anything she thinks may give her a problem on the N.E.W.T.s today. In addition to apprehension over the N.E.W.T.s, Blossom's nerves are also on edge because of the final exams she has towards the end of the week. She's heard that in many schools students taking their N.E.W.T.s are exempt from finals. Why Watling's insists on both, Blossom will never know; however, she does wonder if the administrative board realizes how stressful doing both in the same week is to the students. Probably not or if they do they probably don't care. As long as they are paid and receive the funds they want for their various programs, those old witches and wizards have never seemed to care much about the best interests of the students or the school. Blossom is extremely glad she'll be gone from here in a week and a half.

Time seems to creep by but at long last other students begin making an appearance in the Great Common, most of them other seventh years. A few friends convince Blossom to join them for breakfast, insisting she needs to eat a little something, even if it's just a piece of dry toast. Knowing that she will need energy to get through the test, Blossom admits to her friends they are right and though her stomach protests, she forces down some food.

Shortly after breakfast, it's time for all the seventh years to go to their assigned rooms to take their tests. Entering the Charms classroom with other Falcon House members, Blossom sits down in her usual spot when in this particular room. Anticheating quills are passed out and everyone is asked to make sure their ink wells are full before Professors Saito and Caldwell pass out tests.

Putting a hand over her stomach while mentally willing it to calm down its continued queasiness, Blossom takes a deep breath. Blossom has such high marks in all her classes she shouldn't be so worried about the N.E.W.T.s yet for some inexplicable reason Blossom is literally worrying herself sick. Telling herself to stop being such a silly nitwit, Blossom takes another deep, calming breath, picks up her quill and begins answering the first question.

OOC Note: Watling's Wizarding Academy is located in the Colorado Rockies and is seven hours behind Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This means early afternoon at Hogwarts is early morning at Watling's.

Tuesday Morning
Author: Draco Malfoy
Date: 10-06-02 14:43

Draco woke with a start, his legs and feet wildly tangled in the silvery bedsheets. He attempted to jump out of his bed with haste, which resulted in him falling onto the hard, stone floor with a painful thud.

"Son of a..." From where he was laying on the ground with his legs in the air and his feet still caught in the sheets, Draco could see that it was shortly after 8:00 am and he was late for Transfiguration class. "Wait a minute..."

Draco stifled a groan and attempted to free his feet from the sheets, which were slightly hanging off the side of the bed. He had almost forgotten that for him, school was already out, and he needn't worry about having to be up at a certain time in the mornings anymore.

Having recovered from his fall, Draco slipped back into his bed and attempted to get a little more shut eye.

Final Day of Finals
Author: Isolde
Date: 10-06-02 15:55

Isolde fought back a yawn as she circled the letter A on question 9 of the multiple-choice section of Professor Binn's incredibly boring History of Magic final exam. Not only were his classes extremely uninteresting and worthy of putting even Hermione Granger to sleep, but also his tests were completely lacking oompf or pizzazz.

As her eyes raked across the classroom, Isolde caught many heads cradled in hands and tired elbows slipping off desks. Oh, boy. This hour would be a long one. She glanced quickly at Pyrrhus, who also seemed to be fighting to stay awake. Next to him, Azaelia had her head down on the desk and was lazily scribbling in her answers. Lucikly, the exam didn't require full attention or everyone would be in big trouble.

Finals, Finals & More Finals
Author: Ledara Knight
Date: 10-06-02 19:42

There was a lot to study. So much reading, potion making, transfigurations, muggles, etc., that it was enough to make anyone's head spin.

I arrived at Prof. McGonagall's Transfiguration Class. I had experienced some odd happenings to me. A couple of times waking up in the middle of the night only to see that my hands were cat's paws. But, how do I tell Prof. McGonagall? I would also have to tell it to the Ministry of Magic!

Maybe just my Transfiguration Spells. I might be spouting out spells in my sleep. So much studying has my mind going crazy! I enjoy reading and the studies have been numerous. So much to work with.

I sat in Prof. McGonagall's Transfiguration Class awaiting my turn. How good will my Transfigurations be? I was so nervous. Isis, my cat was with me. She was to help me with this one. Being my object to be Transfigured, it should be a great surprise! I had been able to change her from a small cat into a cougar. She seemed to enjoy having that done to her. Now, I had to try it before the whole class. She always kept her composure.

I sat and looked at Isis, when it came to my turn. "Think calm thoughts. It will come to you. Don't be nervous." I thought to myself. I closed my eyes, and said the spell to transfigure Isis from small cat to cougar!

"Transfigurus Felis Domesticus!"

We watch as she grows and changes. It works! I wonder what Prof. McGonagall would think.

Herbology Final
Author: Ginny Weasley
Date: 10-06-02 21:14

Ginny tries to keep her mind on the Herbology final, following all the instructions Professor Logan had given at the start, but as with all her finals so far, Ginny's mind keeps straying. Maybe her parents won't blast her if exams scores are lower than expected. Afterall, Ginny has good reason to find concentrating difficult and for constantly being stressed and worried these past several weeks. Ginny is fairly certain her parents will be lenient on Ron if his scores are lower as well but she's not so sure how they'd react if the twins don't do well on their N.E.W.T.s.

Ginny represses a shudder at thinking about how their mother reacted when the twins did more poorly on their O.W.L.s than expected. Of course, the twins, like Ron and Ginny, are more distracted than usual. Many of the students at Hogwarts are for that matter. Harry's been missing for ages and there are no clues and worse, not a single word. Ginny sighs, pushes her bangs out of her eyes and tries not to get teary eyed again.

Ginny expends a great deal of mental energy to return her focus to the Herbology exam. By the time she's walking with the other fourth year Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors to their Astronomy exam, Ginny has a raging headache and wishes fervently that the day was already over.

Re: Herbology Final
Author: Angelina

As I walked down the rows of tables I noticed on of my students was extremely nervous I went down the names of students I had and came across the name of Ginny Weasley. I knew she was Ron, Fred and George's sister and being the youngest of the family I knew her worries. Having to live up to the expectations of her family and the pain of being compared to other family members. Ginny brushed her bangs aside and her face seemed to show that she was trying not to cry. She liked Harry and she was worried about him I wanted to say something to her to ease her mind but the tests had to be first and her mind had to be on them.

Then time was up the students laid down their quills and looked up at me as I collected them. "All right now you will be heading to your next exam in Astronomy I hope you all do well and please don't worry about living up to your families expectations as long as you worked hard and did your best and passed you are Hogwarts students." I looked at Ginny and gave her a wink then a smile.

Is There an End in Sight?
Author: Jet
Date: 10-07-02 07:53

After a relatively easy Astronomy final, Jet and the other fourth year Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors taking Muggle Studies walk as a group to that classroom. Jet takes a seat as far from Professor Fairchild as he can get. There's something about the way she looks at him that makes him think she knows. That look gives him goose bumps and definitely creeps him out.

The hour passes by relatively quickly and Jet is relieved to be able to get out from under Professor Fairchild's gaze. He opts to go to the Great Hall and get an early lunch before last minute cramming for his Potions exam at one and his Transfiguration final at two. After that he's done for the year and thinks that sleeping until the end of year feast sounds awfully tempting!

A Letter to Hermione
Author: Marina Sanjarya
Date: 10-07-02 15:11

"Uh? What's this?" asked Marina to herself, taking a letter in her hands.

"Dear Miss Sanjarya,

I would like to borrow some books from your library, but I do not have any particular ones in mind. What do you suggest? Although I haven't mentioned this to you before, I just want to let you know that I'm very pleased that you have opened up the library in Hogsmeade. You have no idea how excited you have made me! I look forward to visiting your library again sometime.

Yours Truly,
Hermione Granger
"

Marina felt herself in the heavens, playing with small birds and hearing angels singing a lullaby; Somebody finally noted her work in the library! Happy as child in Christmas, Marina grabbed a beautiful black ink pen, and wrote a reply to Hermione's letter:

"Dear Hermione,

I am so happy to see that you liked my public library so much. I will send you some of my best books just as I finish this letter. What is your preferred gender? Mystery? Romance? I don't prefer romance, due to a personal problem that I had with that a few months ago. Well, anyway, I am sending you three books of tales and some more. I know your reputation as an avid reader, so seven or eight books will not be a hard task to you. In fact, I think it will be a pleasure. I will be waiting your visit, dear, come whenever you like.

Yours truly,
Marina Sanjarya.
"

Marina ran to the bookshelves and got eight books, that included Shakespeare, Poe, and one or another book of fairy-tales. Hermione was a child, she shouldn't be offended to read fairy-tales books. Marina heard a lot about Hermione, and knew she was crazy to read difficult books.

"Well, let's give it a try," said Marina to her owl, while attaching the books to its legs.
