Christmas Morning
Author: Hermione Granger
Date: 05-29-02 08:31

The next morning, Hermione awoke nearly forgetting just what day it was. She lazily stretched her tired limbs and threw her legs over the side of the four-poster. It wasn't until her eyes came into focus that she saw the stack of presents at the foot of her bed.

Squealing with delight, she scrambled out of bed and hurried over to the festively-wrapped packages. The first box she reached for was from her parents. As thoughtful as they were, they had given her a set of books which included a dictionary, thesaurus, and two abridged encyclopedia volumns. The Muggle encyclopedias had little use in the wizarding world, of course, but Hermione was still extremely pleased with them.

Hermione's next attack was set on a rectangular-shaped parcel from Viktor. In it she found what looked like a bookshelf. It was, however, not just any ordinary bookshelf. In fact, it was magically expandable, only that the actual size and shape of the shelf remained the same. The trick to the shelf was that one could squeeze in more books than there appeared to be room for.

By this time, Hermione had been squealing so loudly that her roommates were wide awake and crawling out of their own beds to see what gifts they had received. When Majandra got to her stack of presents, Hermione quickly pointed out which gift should be opened first. Majandra took the book-shaped gift and unwrapped it finding none other than a book–on knitting. She smiled and thanked Hermione for the gift.

Happy Christmas!
Author: Isolde
Date: 05-29-02 10:15

"Happy Christmas!" Isolde exclaimed, merrily.

Christmas was perhaps the only day of the year that Isolde actually acted cheerfully. And why wouldn't she? With a tall stack of presents at the foot of her bed and her friends already raiding their own parcels, Isolde wouldn't even dream of being sinister on this day.

She jumped out of bed and gave her cousin, Azaelia, a big hug. Then, she leapt over to Alexis and did the same. "We've got presents!" she shrieked, and practically dove into her pile of gifts.

The three girls madly worked their way through the packages, making all sorts of excited noises as they moved on from gift to gift. Both Azaelia and Alexis received identical presents from Isolde–an assortment of hairclips with astronomical designs like shooting stars and planets.

They seemed pleased with the gifts, and even started clipping them like mad into their hair. Isolde laughed and busied herself with her pile again.

Happy, Happy Christmas!
Author: George Weasley
Date: 05-29-02 12:41

George opened his eyes as a grey light lit the boys dorm room. "Wake up, you lot! It's Christmas!!"

He sprung up and began tearing open gifts. Another deep, burgandy sweater from Mum with a gold letter "G" on it, some candies and other sweets from Percy, and a practical joke book from Charlie. The note said that he had an owl sent to Twice Told Tales to find joke books for he and Fred both. Didn't Charlie know!

The poor guy was cooped up with some bitchy woman in a quarantine tent on Christmas. But, George and Fred knew exactly how to cheer him up. They sent him a letter that would explode when you openeded it, sending mini red, green, silver and gold fire works and sparkles everywhere. The silver and gold would spell out "Merry Christmas, Charlie! Love, Gred and Foerge". Hopefully, the little charm would work so that the fireworks wouldn't shoot up into the roof of the tent and burn a hole!

Now, where was their present from Bill? Maybe he was waiting to give it to them in person! Must be a great present, then!

"All roight!" George heard Fred exclaim and he jumped up on his bed.

George grinned, knowingly. "Do ya like it, Fred?"

"Sure do! Always wanted one of these things! Um, whot is it?" Fred asked jokingly and he and George burst out laughing.

Lee suddenly sat up in bed. "What? Where's the party? Where's the girls?!"

George and Fred laughed and ran over, pulling the covers off Lee. "C'mon, then, Lee! It's Christmas!!" The three enjoyed their presents then went to find ickle Ronniekins and Harry.

Bickering on Christmas
Author: Helena Tufton
Date: 05-29-02 12:42

When Helena awoke on Christmas morning, she was shocked and disappointed to discover that she was still trapped in the miserable little tent with Charlie Weasley. She had temporarily forgotten that the two of them were going to be quarantined throughout the holidays. This certainly wasn't the way she had planned spending Christmas.

Charlie was still snoring softly on his side of the tent, hidden from view by a partition. Groaning slightly, Helena climbed out of bed and stood, stretching out her worn limbs. She hadn't gotten out of bed very often over the past week, which was the reason her legs were shaking ever-so-slightly. She tried to ease the nerves and muscles by slowly walking around her part of the tent. Each step was difficult, but she managed to move around without any problems. That is, until her left knee buckled and sent her sprawling through the partition onto the sleeping Charlie.

"What the hell?!" shouted Charlie at the sudden intrusion. He was trapped on the cot beneath the fabric of the partition, which had ripped clean off the top of the tent, and the flailing Helena.

Helena tried to roll off of him, but suddenly his two hands, which had somehow appeared from beneath the fabric, wrapped themselves around her arms holding her still. "What the hell do you think you're doing?!" he repeated angrily.

"What am I doing? What are you doing?" Helena shot back, trying to free herself from his grip.

He wouldn't let go, however, and spat, "Trying to strangle me in my sleep, are you?!"

"What?" Helena replied fiercely, completely appalled that he would suggest such a thing. "I would never–"

Charlie continued with equal vigor, "Want to take the credit for the antibiotic yourself, do you?!"

By now Helena was furious. "How dare you–"

Suddenly, loud, boisterous laughter came from beneath the tarp. Charlie was laughing uncontrollably.

"What's so funny?" Helena exclaimed angrily, taking the opportunity to use her newly freed arms to pull the fabric off his face. The whole time they had been bickering, his face had been hidden from view, which meant that he had probably been laughing and grinning like an idiot the whole time the argument went on.

His face was beet red, not just from the uncontrollable laughter, but also from the lack of oxygen he had been getting from having his face covered and also from having another body on top of his.

Helena rolled off of him and fell onto the hard ground. "You're laughing at me," she said bitterly. "I hate you, Charlie Weasley."

Charlie removed the rest of the tarp from his body and dropped to the floor to help her back to her feet. "Oh, c'mon Helena. Can't you take a joke?"

"Some joke, Weasley." She shrugged away his helping hands and crawled over to her cot.

Charlie sighed and helped her back into the bed, even though she was desperately trying to fight him off. "Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you angry."

He thought that last statement over for a second.

"OK, ok...everything I say or do makes you angry. But, I didn't do it on purpose this time." He cracked a sly smile, and even Helena couldn't resist smiling back.

"I still hate you," she joked.

Charlie grinned, "I know. I'm not fond of you either." He pulled over a chair and took a seat. "At least we agree on something."

Giving isn't for Slytherins - Only on Christmas
Author: Azaelia Bramble
Date: 05-29-02 12:58

Azaelia loved her hair clips and ponytail holders from Isolde, and so did Alexis, it seemed.

"Open that one next!" Lia exclaimed as Lexi and Is opened their tiny packages from Azaelia.

"Oooooooh!" Both girls squealed in unison as they pulled out long, gold chains with a charm on the end.

Each of the edges on the charms looked jagged and Lexi and Isolde looked at Azaelia quizzically. Azaelia held up her part and the three brought them together, revealing what was inscribed. Partners in Crime

Lexi and Isolde flung their arms around Lia and put their necklace on, then ran down to the common room to find the rest of their friends - and Lia had a special something for her special someone.

Presents
Author: Majandra
Date: 05-29-02 13:03

After thanking her roommates for her presents, Majandra pointed out to each which of their own presents were from her. For Lavender and Parvati, their own crystal balls, lovely lavender and rosey pink respectively, with covers Majandra has made for them. For Christiane Carter, a warm sweater, also made by Majandra. For Hermione, the handmade, appliqued bookbag containing its first book, a tongue-in-cheek humorous book with spells such as turning frogs into handsome princes.

On Christmas Eve, Majandra, along with half of Hogwarts, had had owls making late night deliveries of gifts around school. When making and buying gifts, Majandra had been head over heels for Ron so she'd made the twins and Ginny something each. For Ginny, Majandra had knitted a short sleeve sweater in spring colors of blue, yellow, and green, and for the twins, she'd made waterproof sweaters to wear with their Quidditch robes when practicing during bad weather. She'd also made one for Harry for his Christmas gift as well as sending one to that nice Viktor Krum. For Hagrid, Majandra had made a quilt. She'd also made Fang a blanket he could lounge on in front of Hagrid's fire. Winky got socks and a pair of dangling earrings. Dobby got socks and two neckties. Majandra had even been nice and made matching his and her sweaters for Pyrrhus and Isolde. Then there is Ron. Included with his gift, Majandra put a note.

Dear Ron,

I know this gift will seem extravagent coming from just a friend; however, I bought it when in the full throws of the crush over you. So, at the time it seemed perfect to give as a girlfriend to a boyfriend. It cannot be returned or else I'd save you the embarrassment of being given this by someone who isn't after you romantically anymore. Please accept it as a token of a renewed friendship and as part of my apology to you for the trouble I caused between Hermione and you.

Happy Christmas,
Majandra

After reading the note, Ron will find enclosed in a brightly wrapped but small box a ticket for the coming summer admitting him to a weekend training camp with the Chudley Cannons.

A Very Happy Christmas
Author: Kendra Beck
Date: 05-29-02 13:18

Kendra woke up and stretched her arms over her head before she was reminded by the packages at the foot of her bed, what the day was.

She gasped. "It's Christmas!"

Kendra jumped out of bed, and yanked the covers off of Bronwyn. "It's Christmas, Bron! Wake up!"

Bronwyn woke with a start, eager to open her presents. The other girls in their dorm had all gone home for the holidays, so it was just them. Kendra looked at the two, neatly wrapped boxes on her side table. One was for Toby, and the other for Hunter. Kendra wasn't really sure if she should give it to Toby or not. Bronwyn, of course, told her last night that she should give it to him.

"Open that one!" Kendra giggled.

Bronwyn tore open the paper. "Oh, Kendra! I love it!" She squealed and gave her best friend a hug. It was an album full of pictures of their first year when they met at Nine and Three Quarters to present school year. The two eleven year old girls on the front page with their arms around each other's shoulders waved at Bronwyn.

Kendra smiled. "Do you really?"

"Yes!" Bronwyn looked like she might cry. "Open yours next!"

Fire and Ice
Author: Lysander Stratford
Date: 05-29-02 13:19

Lysander tiptoed around the flat wearing nothing but red and green flannel pajama pants. His chiseled upper body glistened from the morning dew for he had just come in from a few minutes outside to gather together a little something for his lovely wife.

When everything was in place, he tiptoed to the king-sized bed and slid in beneath the covers. He wrapped an arm around her sleeping form and pressed his nose into her dark hair. She stirred and rolled over to meet his face for a gentle kiss.

"Good morning, Sweetheart," Lysander said huskily. "Happy Christmas."

Chyler cooed, "Happy Christmas, baby."

"I've got something for you."

"Ooh! Presents!" Chyler shrieked and sat up excitedly. She was wearing a blood-red silk nightie with spaghetti straps.

Lysander laughed and threw his legs over the side of the bed, "Yes, presents. You sit tight, my dear, and promise not to peek!"

Chyler did as she bade and covered her eyes, allowing Lysander to fetch the surprise, which was melting away in the other room.

When he returned, he held before him a small, silver cauldron filled to the brim with snow.

"Open your eyes..."

Chyler's brown eyes opened slowly, and then widened curiously. "Snow. For me? Aww, Sweetie!" She was being sarcastic, of course.

Lysander grinned wickedly. "Dig in, my love."

And dig in she did. Her soft, white hand dipped into the freezing cold snow and pulled out two small, black cases. The first contained a necklace consisting of a long gold chain and a large saphire pendant. The smaller box contained a matching ring. Chyler squealed.

Gifts Left to Give
Author: Pyrrhus
Date: 05-29-02 13:26

After opening a few of his presents, Pyrrhus grabbed up the new plush robe from one set of grandparents and headed to the common room. He'd already given gifts to his roommates and most of his friends and even something to that goody-goody sister of his. She was doing so much knitting this year he'd gotten her a set of magical knitting needles. Of course, he only got her a present because he knew he'd catch hell from his parents if they'd found out he hadn't.

Pyrrhus still had some gifts to give though, which is why he was eager to get to the common room. For Azaelia and Alexis, Py had found awesome looking Slytherin crest charms that could be worn on special brooches, pendants or on bracelets. One of each came with the charms. The most important gift left to give is Isolde's. Py won't make an issue of it but he's really hoping she'll wear the gift to the ball. Nested in an elegant handcarved ebony case sits a small but brilliantly sparking tiara. Isolde is a queen and every queen deserves a crown.

Exchanging Gifts
Author: Bronwyn Dewhurst
Date: 05-29-02 13:52

Bronwyn was extremely happy about the gift Kendra had given her. How thoughtful!

Now, Kendra was eagerly opening Bronwyn's gift. The package was a long, slender box wrapped in holiday paper. When she opened it, Kendra let out a shriek. Inside, lay a black-corded necklace with a golden moon pendant.

"So, what do you think?" Bronwyn asked, smiling.

Kendra quickly put the necklace on and ran to see her reflection in the mirror. "It's wonderful!"

They hugged and went through the rest of their gifts. Later that day, Bronwyn planned to give out a few more gifts to her other friends. For Hannah and Susan, she had bought similar necklaces with a sun and star pendant respectively. Hunter would get a festively decorated tin with an assortment of holiday treats, and Toby would get a comprehensive book on the professional Quidditch teams.

Merry Christmas, Baby
Author: Chyler Stratford
Date: 05-29-02 13:59

After what seemed like half an hour, or more, Chyler and Lysander finally separated from the little thank you kiss Chyler gave her husband.

"Let's apparate to see Jules and the fam., later, what do you say?" Lysander asked, knowing they had presents for he and his family, and that the snow was becoming a bit bothersome here.

"That's be great!" She flipped the covers back and sat on her knees. "Wait here."

Slowly, she crawled backward off the bed and sauntered into the closet. Lysander whistled and pretended to faint.

Moments later, Chyler came back with a long, black box. She crawled back in bed, noting the direction of Lysander's eyes, an sat back on her knees again.

"Happy Christmas, Baby" She handed him the present, as he sat up in bed. Carefully he slipped the lid off the box and peeked inside.

He gasped. "Oh, Honey!"

"Uh, huh. And check out the hands." She snuggled in beside him and pointed to each one of the hands on the silver watch.

"This one says Chyler is lonely, this one says Chyler is taking a bath, that one Chyler is PMSing." She explained every little hand. "And this one, Chyler is ready."

Lysander stared at his lovely wife, grinned, and put the watch on the bedstand.

Christmas and My First Gift
Author: Robert Blackheart
Date: 05-29-02 14:12

A Christmas gift.
I thought about it a lot.
Christmas...Yuck.
Gifts............Yuck...Yuck...Yuck.
Then I thought about Azaelia.
I thought about her a lot actually, but a Christmas gift...?
Me...? Robert Blackheart give someone a Christmas present?

I really did worry about it. I had never given anyone a Christmas gift before.

I gave the matter some consideration.

Brainwave...I know...some dead flowers from a graveyard.

No...better still a skull from a graveyard.

Or...even better...Something really smelly and evil...something...Slytherin.

Then the idea hit me and I ran all the way to Hagrid's hut.

~~ / ~~

"No!" he roared..."Absolutely not...you can't give her..."

"Oh c'mon Hagrid...help me out, be a sport."

"Not a bloody chance," he added.

"I will help you fix your beer making spells."

"Hmmmmmmmmm," he hmmmmmmed.

The matter was settled with a shake of the hand (or should I say paw) as I took possession of *chuckles*.

~~ / ~~

I was so pleased that she liked it...(her present that is)...I could tell by the way she screamed.

It's not every day a girl gets a two headed wolfhound puppy.
